I downloaded the latest version. I seem to be having an issue with denominate.

I've been hit with 12 denominate fees for -0.0125 in the space of 20 minutes. My balance keeps ping ponging between unconfirmed and available balance. Any idea what's going on ?

I'm running set at 2 rounds.

I agree... Seems like we have to jump around a lot in the forums to get an update on what is happening with each release.
My thoughts exactly, maybe anyone of the team that could respond to this? Thanks! :)

Main topic is that people are rushing to buy cheap darks before the recent panic sell reverses :)
I know you were, I'm following that topic as well. I just couldn't link it here, not a member on this forum long enough yet haha.

Correct me if I am wrong but 72% of "coins earned" in the last 13 hours were with pools already on RC4.

****** PLEASE UPDATE TO v9.12.30 (Stable) OR 10.12.30 (RC) *******

This update addresses the following issues:

1.) The round > 1 error was caused by a lack of fees, because of this the network refused to accept the transactions. I've made the default darksend fee 0.0125, or currently $0.043 per 1000DRK. This means to anonymize $3450 it will current cost 0.0013%. Even with the higher fee our solution is decentralized and cheaper than any comparable mixer on the market. Also, it's good to remember this fee goes to the miners, so it will actually benefit the network and make mining more valuable.
2.) The "DoAutomaticDenominating : No funds detected in need of denominating (2)" issue was caused by something added in the last version to improve anonymity in some cases. It's fixed in the new version.
3.) This update is backwards compatible.
4.) Updated the splashscreens. A big thank you to raze!

Is there any way that these release notices could have a flag to say whether it is a priority update for masternodes or not? For example, if I knew that 10.12.30 would improve something I'd drop what I'm doing now and update my masternodes now. If I knew that the daemon hadn't changed, I'd prob wait until next week when I have more time....

The last mandatory update was 10.12.26. Not sure about the rest.

Are there equivalent CLI commands for darkcoind to list number of rounds etc.? The GUI is still chewing up CPU and unusable, several times it has frozen halfway through a resync and spat out some wallet database explosion error but darkcoind seems fine. Had to restore the wallet.dat from backup.

The wallet.dat I'm testing with is about 24MB though, it's my old mining wallet and has thousands of micropayments in it, I'm going to try sending to a new wallet and trying the GUI client again.

edit: yep, sending to a fresh wallet that isn't 24MB large fixed things. DS+ing away on main-net, no more constant CPU hogging or GUI lag from hell, and resyced the blockchain about 100x faster than it had been trying to do.

OSX qt seems to run a bit better in the latest version but still pretty laggy. Does it try and demoninate before it's synced? Would it not help to initiate denom once it's done syncing?

New version still wouldn't denominate. Trouble lies with me not having paid any fees yet I believe - first version did payment to self with no fees. Tried deleting everything except wallet.dat. Will try reindexing next. Then last resort I'll start a new wallet and send my balance over.

I couldn't even get synced in the GUI with the wallet.dat I was using, it kept exploding with some database error while still about 15 weeks behind. So I synced up with darkcoind instead, then transferred to a fresh wallet and now it's running as it should do.

v30 pays fees again by itself, at least for me.

edit: here's the error

EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error
CDB() : can't open database file wallet.dat, error -30974
darkcoin in Runaway exception

2014-08-15 18:58:56 EnvShutdown exception: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery (-30974)

The other way I've got it to sync is to use stable which syncs really quickly then swap to darksend version. Doesn't solve my problem though. I've a feeling it's new wallet time.

I'm still getting

2014-08-16 01:49:51 DoAutomaticDenominating : No funds detected in need of denominating (2)

I have rounds set to :1 and amount to keep anon :20

I have deleted old wallet, made a new one, sent coins to new wallet and still i get the same msg

Edit: Got it to move along by increasing the amount you want to keep anon, over the total amount you have in the wallet.

Forgive me Flare, I tried to use Jira but using the mobile site I couldn't figure out how to create an issue and creating an issue using the desktop site on my phone was a pita. Anyway,

New Feature: Darksend Progress Bar

Level: Important

Summary: Currently it is pretty difficult to determine when denomination starts or if it is finished (or hung). Among other issues, this leads to users sending funds when their inputs are locked and upset when it fails. At least a basic progress bar (graphic) should be added.

Thanks

Excellent idea. I for one would appreciate a "status" verification of some sort. Easier for us noobs to know where we stand.

Finally found Update v.31 by going through the btctalk thread. I'm just wondering if there's a darkcointalk thread only for Evan to post his updates?

****** PLEASE UPDATE TO v9.12.31 (Stable) OR 10.12.31 (RC) *******

- In some cases denominations were being calculated incorrectly causing the denomination process to go on forever. This fixes that issue.

Edit: No offense to btctalk but there's so much garbage there and it's hard to find Evan's updates sometimes.

I think Camosoul (bitcointalk) has already emailed Evan but more than 1 round seems to be bugged for wallets with large balances.

I second that. eduffield on darkcointalk so many users are following your work and helping you testing and debugging and supporting the bigger thing. Why are you stopping to post updates here?

In addition, following the ANN-thread on bitcointalk is a fulltime job. Could you maybe create a locked thread in here where you only post development updates and release notes, without any discussion allowed?

I would really appreciate this too. I need to know of a single place to look for updates. I'd also love a statement of any daemon changes for masternode operators or a statement saying "No chance since 10.12.27" or similar.
