not really believing in the 3 weeks thingy, currently enforcement is set to 4085657524 (year 2099). so unless we update all clients again, there will be no enforcement.

But doesn't that mean that in case of forks we'll have ~64% - the longest chain, ~24% another chain, and almost all of the rest ~12% is rc4 - the smallest chain? So it's not 60%/40% but 64%/24%/12% and the main chain then has more than twice larger probability the the next one.

Isn't the MN enforcement triggered via check pointing? (not a constant in the code)
 
I would freeze couple of days and IF not change much would do sychro of renting nice hash with Evan info included to lower the risk...if....
 
They're mining at 20% till the wheels fall off.
They will update literally in minutes after enforcement.

Asap they get orphans they will receive a tons of shit from their miners so they will run to do it.
Thinking Evan might do it but is waiting to get the network stronger than 60%

I agree, even if all "unknown" nicehash blocks will start paying 20%, we will level out at 73% max. x11ltc will not update to 20% like they didn't the last months. I don't think we'll need to rent x11 rigs for days, because the pools (x11ltc) will fork off very fast, and it's unlikely they will try to resync with the main chain to get forked of again within minutes.

I say lets stick to the timeline that Evan set to ensure that the most small pools and solo miners with the best intentions have a chance to update and then say goodbye to x11ltc.

Its tempting to flick the switch now but lets put the good guys before the bad guys imho.

What good guys?
Updating from RC4 to RC5 = darkcoind stop, update darkcoind to 0.9.13.15 and then start darkcoind (by hand this would take at most 5 minutes, much less with a script)
Updating from RC3 to RC5 = the same...

So the only other population are the one who didn't bother to update correctly their stratum/pool software correctly since RC3 went live (June 20th). Come on!

On monday that will be 1 week since the go live of RC5. That's plenty enough time to update the daemon. Anyway, Evan announced 3 weeks, so 3 weeks it should be. Stick to the word.

  • monday, sept/29 open source, look how's going
  • monday, oct/06 enforcement, unix timestamp: 1412602417 (06 Oct 2014 13:33:37 GMT)
That's two weeks for people to upgrade. Should be enough...
