I'm really proud of you guys, congratulations! These are moments that will lead to a better world. I would be honoured to be a member, the only thing I would like to know more about is the conflict of interest clause and its implications. I'm not too sure where a source of conflict would arise from the 4 mission statements of the Darkcoin Foundation. Could you give us an example? My only real immediate concern with regards to this question is for the sustainable charity development I am creating… as long as that isn't a conflict I only see a benefit from coordinating our decentralized forces for maximum efficiency :)
From: https://www.darkcoinfoundation.org/about/conflict-of-interest-policy/
"The purpose of this conflict of interest policy is to protect the interests of The Darkcoin Foundation, Inc. (the “Corporation”) when it is contemplating entering into a transaction or arrangement that might benefit the private interest of an officer or director of the Corporation."

It's about how Founders with access to the funds spend the Foundation money, not, I hope, about any one member like you or I having alternative interests. Because I have several hobbies that are frequently in conflict with my desire to buy more DRK. Eating, for instance.

The conflict of interest policy is there to avoid that any officer or board member of the foundation puts his/her interest before the one of the foundation. Imagine, for example, that I start an exchange. If the foundation were to select an exchange to use with its own funds, I should not take part on that decision because I obviously have a conflict of interest as I would probably favour mine over others, even if others were a better option.

Okay, I signed up.

Do I get a T-shirt?
From the announcement:

Neither class of members receives any perks, really, other than the right to vote for board directors (this may change when Darkcoin is on its way toward world domination). For now, it’s best to think of membership as an act of support.
Let's make it happen and t-shirts will follow. Unless Halle Berry gets to wear it, in which case I'll pay for it with my own money :)

Exactly, it doesn't affect regular members, only those who perform specific tasks for the foundation. But those tasks don't need to be related with access to the funds necessarily, it is more broad than that.

So awesome to see this taking shape!! Saw the announcement of the foundation a few months back and absolutely consider this to be a pivotal moment for Darkcoin -- proud to be a member :)

hey moli
i just moved in
there is still space !
;)

PS: it would be so cool if actually all Foundation members had the same address !
Speaking of Anonymity
:)
No please. We don't have to check the information provided, but if everyone has the same one it would obvious that it is fake and we should act or risk losing the tax exemption!!!

It would be fun, though :)

Cool! I'm glad you got to move to that address. Now we know you're gonna get Darkcoin to make the headline news on The Moscow Times soon, right? I'm waiting!!!!! :D

The forum for the foundation is already set up:
https://darkcointalk.org/categories/the-darkcoin-foundation.78/

We've finally decided to allow everyone to post, so non members can also discuss and we can convince them to join :)

We've also created a ribbon to recognize the foundation members. You can see it in my profile next to this post. There is a post in the 'Internal Operations' subforum (https://darkcointalk.org/threads/welcome-to-the-foundations-forum.3178/) explaining how you can get yours. It is also published in the foundation's blog (https://www.darkcoinfoundation.org/blog/). This was not announced before people joined, so we prefer to make you all ask for it in case someone prefers not to have it and keep his/her membership not known.

Hey, fernando, how long does it take to process the payment? My account at the Foundation displays this message for ages ("ages" in ADD time ): Order #278 was placed on December 7, 2014 and is currently processing."

Did I do something wrong? I usually do :)

My transaction:
Status: 1463 confirmations
Date: 12/6/2014 16:37
To: Darkcoin Foundation XoGCoUZfR5MbQj2i4Jei9fSuGFSCG7P5Uh

That is definitely not normal. I'm not in front of a computer now and can't check, but I will be in a couple hours and report back. Thanks for the heads up.

OK, thanks.

I feel like a kid on a playground but not yet allowed to play
I've checked everything at it is fine, your payment was received when you did it and your subscription is active since then. I've checked other orders and I've just discovered that the order status is always 'Processing' while the subscription is active. It only is 'Completed' when everything is finished/delivered. We did dozens of test purchases and I had not realized this was what it showed to the members

I'm in. Couldn't resist.

I would have signed up for life if it wasn't tax return time ;)

Not too sure if I did the right thing to get the Darkcoin Foundation Member mention… I'll check back a bit later, it looks really cool!

You did it right, but I have to process them manually and I've been offline for a few hours. You got it now :)
