Any idea what time we'll be kicking off the UPDATE to V12.1?

Currently preparing a fresh micro SD Card for NOOBs on a Raspberry Pi2b....
....watching the cursor flash.... begging me to type.... anxiety builds

:p

12.1 Masternode Update info say:

Code:
step 3) duplicate your dash folder and rename the copy to .dashcore

Win
click the Dash folder, press control-c, then press control-v.
once copied, rename to ".dashcore"

are you absolute sure about this, because in windows "dot.folder"
is not usually used and old 12.0 folder is named to "Dash" ?

Maybe "Dashcore" is the right format?

Question(s)

- Same doubt regarding name: ".dashcore" is the new main folder?
- Can we delete the "old" dash folder once done?

(and OFC after 2-3 backups...)

"Dashcore" is new main folder for Windows and Mac, for Linux it is ".dashcore"

Source: https://github.com/dashpay/dash/pull/905/files#diff-b7702a084eb00fb47f9800fd68271951
Code:
+ // Windows < Vista: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\DashCore
+    // Windows >= Vista: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\DashCore
+ // Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/DashCore
+ // Unix: ~/.dashcore

You can copy the original directory to the new location or just rename it (or tell it to use the original directory with "-datadir"). I had to delete both mncache.dat and peers.dat before it would start and it had to reindex but running fine now.

I still can't download the wallet :) I assume you have access to a file from devs

12.1 isn't out yet but the testing release has been out for a while and does both mainnet and testnet, which is specified in the dash.conf file or with the launch command. There are a couple of threads about 12.1 testnet on the forum here and there are links to the client download it in the first posts. Other than getting set up and ready there's not much point running 12.1 yet but if you try the testing release be sure to change for the official release as soon as its out, there's been one minor change to it in the last hour or so and there may be more.

Guess we have just to wait a bit then ;) just updated the cold wallet and backed it up. 12.1 next step ;)

Disabling IPv6 seems like a bit of a retrograde step... What is the rationale behind it?

It's splitting up parts of the network, something along the lines of one IPv4 network for PrivateSend and another for IPv6. There where only a small number of IPv6 nodes so simpler to disable it and spend some time on it rather than patch it up, quite a few tasty networking possibilities but they'd take time.
