Proposal: Core Team Compensation (May)

This proposal funds the Dash Core Group's ongoing compensation costs - including all developers, administrative, and support staff - at market rates for base pay, excluding benefits or bonuses.

The team has ~60 paid team members, and we have open positions that will further expand this over the coming several months to ~70. The current run-rate is ~$325,000 monthly. This is an average of ~$5,400 / month / contributor.

As of Mid-March, the breakdown of the number of staff we have working in each department is as follows:

- Marketing / International Outreach - 9 staff - plans to expand to 11
- Development - 27 staff - plans to expand to 33
- Project Management - 3 staff - plans to expand to 4
- Infrastructure - 3 staff - plans to expand to 4
- Support - 1 staff - plans to expand to 2
- Quality Assurance - 4 staff - plans to expand to 6
- Leadership and Admin - 10 staff - plans to expand to 11
- Strategy - 3 staff - plans to expand to 4
- Human Resources - 1 staff
- Business Development - 2 staff - plans to expand to 5

Requested funding is as follows for the May 3rd budget cycle:
  • 1,101.80 Dash for core team compensation ($325,000 USD @ $294.97 per Dash)
  • 5.00 Dash proposal reimbursement
Total: 1,106.80 Dash

Note: Should any funding remain, we will apply it toward future compensation expenses.

Can you please just request triple more money, so that we don't spend the budget on UFC fighters, music events and Ben Swann? I much rather see everyone being paid 3x the current rate, or be given a huge bonus on the release of Evolution.

Have you discussed with Ryan the possibility of giving bonuses for performance and increasing everyone's salary?
Why do we continue to pay market rate, in spite of market conditions and how hard it is to find blockchain experience?
Does Core have a large fund for rainy days?

@jeremy54 and @TheSingleton, I am not trolling. I much rather see everyone being paid 3x the current rate, or be given a huge bonus on the release of Evolution.

I read on the discord chat that you are planning to bring "4-5" more proposals this month. Could you clarify if that is true?

In case that is true, please keep in mind that after paying Feedbands, Ben Swann and Core Salaries, there will be less than 1800 Dash left.
You will end up draining the entire budget that is really meant for decentralized efforts.

Core has made a few terrible decisions like fernandos marketing plan in the past but something like that looks unlikely to fly again.

At a idea level, Excessive centralization is terrible for the idea of the Dash DAO and there is likely to be strong pushback against such a move.

You should exercise extreme caution before going down that route.

And I wonder.
Some people from the core team receive montly salary for offering support to the new users.
Why they do not answer here?

In the team page of dash site 50 staff members are mentioned.

But the staff members are 63. Who are the rest 13 ones, and who is responsible of updating the team page?

And most important, who decides the staff's numbers?
Is there a reason why Dash needs 10 staff for leadership, and only 1 staff for support?

(Vote the numbers, once again. I am sick of repeating it to the stupid who do not listen)
