This kind of marketing activities are generally better suited for very large companies.

I dont think believe this will be a good investment for dash, since the budget has been hit by price declines.

Best of luck and thank you for your proposal !

Hi Jeremy––

We believe price declines to be temporary, and that a $2 billion market cap does qualify Dash as a "very large company"––one that we want to help grow larger still.

As noted, we have listened to community comments and TSFM have significantly reduced the treasury ask.

Thank you.

Sorry but I dont think spending large amounts on marathon sponsorships to be in step with what we require.

Hi Jeremy––

What Dash will receive as ROI is blanket awareness in San Francisco, combined with a targeted plan for local merchant adoption similar to Portsmouth, New Hampshire:

So true. Dash is finally done funding Stupid Shit.

No more Shrem scams, MMA nonsense, beer/taco giveaways, Dash giveaways, and aimlessly gyrating planes with stickers.

And no marathons.

Frivolous marketing expenses are frozen until Evolution is ready to compete with Lightning, Nano, Monero, and Keybase. Too bad Evolution is still just a vague collection of good intentions and high expectations struggling to precipitate into an actual MVP, testnet, public beta, etc.

@Household-Name should go beg somewhere else.

"Sorry dear, we're not in the mood."

Ignore DNN, just another long-time forum troll. Is that you, Argon31?

To the DASH Community––

While we are disappointed with the outcome of the voting, we understand the timing was just not right for a proposal of this size. It was reaffirming to receive 114 "yes" votes and receive many positive comments from the Forum and Masternodes. Of those who voted no, many commented that they would like us to consider resubmitting at a later date.

We will be following the conversations around DASH and may bring another proposal for consideration down the road.

Thank you for your comments and consideration.

Dear @Household Name® ,

I dont know why other vote no but for my part, only Dev and adoption compte. Artificial exposure no.

Now you can counter agument my point, without listen to my points, but that change nothing to my actual or future vote on this.

Tank you for your proposal and the interest your give to Dash.

Regards,

I wonder how the people who falsely claimed your factually correct post was "trolling" feel now that history has proven you 100% correct?

It's sad how people who can't cope with reality have to make false trolling accusations just to avoid the cognitive dissonance of being completely, flat-out wrong.

Why is it OK for OP to moan about how his proposal was actually good and popular and shift blame for it failing to external circumstances, but not OK for those against the proposal to correct him and make the point that the proposal failed on it's own lack of merit?

Dash really has a problem with censoring perfectly fair, albeit harsh, criticism using cult-like popularity/hierarchy standards rather than fairness and logic.

EG, this post should be addressed instead of being hidden (so much for the supposed free speech on this forum):

Because angsty, 2edgy5me Redditor behavior that is needlessly rude and non-constructive from personalities that have consistently demonstrated their hostility towards Dash and its constructive participants has no place in a professional organization, especially in circumstances like we've had lately where new sockpuppet user accounts pop up every week to continue this same kind of behavior (concern trolling, etc) on a regular basis.

That's why. There's no reason to behave that way--let alone consistently--it benefits no one and detracts from the public-facing platforms of the DAO, and worse than that, you don't even have to own any Dash or be remotely invested in the community to make an account and be rude to and complain to people. Literally anyone can do this. There's no reason to entertain or defend people who are not actively *contributing* to the community and the enhancement of the ecosystem. One can be critical and constructive and even passionate without being rude and toxic and driving away potential contributors to the ecosystem. Even if you don't like someone's project or don't think it would be beneficial, it's stupid-bordering-on-sabotage to unnecessarily burn bridges with professional organizations and businesses acting in good faith.

Are you going to similarly berate Basilpop for the 100s of needlessly rude and non-constructive posts he made while wearing his subreddit moderator hat, or is your poutrage so exquisitely selective that it easily remains unfazed by years of Basilpop's high-profile stupid-bordering-on-sabotage behavior?

Shall I hold my breath waiting for you to condemn the actions that got Basilpop permabanned from r/CC and the endless examples of him driving away potential contributors to the ecosystem?

I don't participate in the Reddit platform or even visit it unless someone posts a particular link in one of the other platforms because of the kinds of people and behaviors it attracts in general, so I can't speak about the actions of particular users there. What I've gathered is that recently the rules from the Dash Nation Discord Channel have been copied over to the Reddit and the plan is to implement and enforce them in the same way. If you've never been to the Discord, it's generally a very pleasant, polite place and the moderators there do a great job, so hopefully the user experience in the Reddit page will improve as well.

At any rate, if someone were behaving the way you're saying this person is behaving there, I would criticize them in just the same way. If we're going to be taken seriously as a professional organization that conducts business and actually accomplishes anything worthwhile, we clearly need to behave that way, and petty, pointless cruelty is antithetical to that pursuit.

Like it or not (I don't either), Reddit is *the place* where the crypto universe interacts with each other, both within and between individual projects/communities.

So when Basilpop spends 3 years sadistically abusing his mod powers to torment users, which results in the sub become too toxic to support a growing ecosystem, it has a negative effect on Dash (and Dash users/hodlers) as a whole.

Basilpop is equally toxic on this forum under his Macrochip handle. I eagerly await equitable application of your studious consternation regarding the thuggish unpleasantries and recruitment/retention/development sabotage inflicted by @Macrochip upon our forums and community.

Yeah, maybe the speculative investment side of the crypto universe, but I really don't care about that part of the crypto universe as Dash is moving further and further from active pursuit of and participation in the endless hype cycle/pump&dump/adolescent posturing realm. I'd invite you to peruse some of toknormal's posts about the deeper, underlying economic and monetary theory that sets Dash apart. Of course I won't discount the importance of platforms like Reddit as having as many points of entry in to our community as we can is helpful, and certainly having unpleasant people guarding those points of entry is not. To be clear, though, I'm concerned only with pragmatics, not ethics or personal feelings.

I haven't had any negative interactions or observed any negative behavior by anyone under those usernames on the forum or discord, but if I do, you can bet I will confront them just the same. Regardless, this discussion is derailing the thread and should be taken to a more appropriate thread.

Hello,

It seems very interesting this project. it is a great opportunity for Dash to participate as sponsor in one of the biggest Marathon in the USA. Definitely, you will show to many people Dash. However, The budget represents a lot of money for Dash Community.

Best Regard

To the DASH Community––

Thank you to all members who worked with us to support our 'Dash San Francisco Marathon' proposal––sadly it was not to be this year.

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco Marathon and Biofreeze, the #1 clinically recommended topical pain reliever, today announced a three-year partnership, with Biofreeze assuming the role of Title Sponsor of both The San Francisco Marathon and The Berkeley Half Marathon. Biofreeze also will play a leading role in the year-round RUN365 training and club program. The newly named Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, July 29th.

“We’re delighted that we can now call The San Francisco Marathon The Biofreeze San Francisco Marathon and join the 27,500 race participants in running their best race,” said McGoohan. “San Francisco is home to innovation and people with health-conscious lifestyles who use their leisure time to take advantage of the spectacular natural beauty of the Bay Area. It’s a market we think is a perfect fit for Biofreeze.”

@Household Name® , pity it didn't work out, the market and timing were not in our favor. Perhaps some day. Good for Biofreeze, though, excellent product, one of the very few I sell in my personal business.

Thank you Arthyron.

We're in crypto/blockchain for the long run, so let's see where we are in three years.

Here in Brooklyn, we're heavily involved in promoting the Bushwick neighborhood as a new tech hub––they call it 'Cryptolandia'––with ConsenSys among others opening offices here.

Looking forward to seeing what develops.

All the best,
