Please vote with 1mn

I find that even after I have voted with all 3 masternodes, Dash Central still shows "Pleas vote with 1mn" against all the budget proposals. When click the link all three masternodes show with a vote against them. This have been happening for ages. I have only recently bought my second and third masternode. Before that I occasionally voted and it didn't clear the "Please vote" sign. But now its consistently wrong.

This isn't working. I have checked today using the proposal vote tracker at https://dashvotetracker.com/history.php?ProposalID=300. I voted with three masternodes and the count only went up by two. This means my votes are not being registered, even though the three little squares all have a plus in them. I think I have been missing a vote on every proposal for months.

Its important that I get my votes.

TBH I find the masternode voting software very easy to use, and this forum very hard to use. I have no idea how to get in touch with @rango. I had a go, probably, but got no reply. Probably user error. I was told I would get used to this software, but I can't. It's too confusing.

does your dash central page show ether

or

?

remember the votes take time to land on pages

My masternode votes show the three plusses when I click on the proposal, but the main page says one vote has not been made, for every proposal. I attach screen dumps.

Well, all three masternodes are showing as verified. There is a button to remove verification, which I suppose I could press, but otherwise I don't know which one might be failing and I don't see any issue with the verification.

i had exactly the same thing !
(let me find what range suggested) ....
there we go:
(follow this)

Please check your voting privkeys.
Masternodes => edit => edit voting privkeys

OK - pressed the edit button, which showed all my privkeys, then I went to my masternode config file and re-pasted the pirvkeys over the top of the privkeys at dash central, then pressed save. When I was pasting I could see that (by eye) nothing was changing, so I don't think any of the keys were changed.

Now I have re-sent my votes on a proposal. Waiting 10 mins to see if things change...

ok - well I'm not sure if this has been a success or not. I will watch over the next day or so to see...

I voted on a sample proposal and the please vote sign went away. I thought this might be a fix so I voted on every proposal again. Then I waited to make sure nothing changed. After an hour or so everything seemed ok, so I thought it might be fixed. But then one of my votes was lost.

The example is
PROPOSAL “CONF-MONEY2020-201707“ (ACTIVE)

It has reverted to "Please vote with one masternode", but when I click on the proposal I can see the following in the voting history...

History:
3 yes votes on 2017-06-28 10:56. Status: completed (all successful)
3 yes votes on 2017-06-27 09:19. Status: completed (all successful)

Manual voting (DashCore - Tools - Debugconsole):
gobject vote-many a6c1774da9ed14de098f89f0f277444d3b8ababa9a93319e8000c75910ef3dc3 funding yes

It seems that all my votes were showing as registered, but then after an hour or four one of them is lost. There is something else wrong!

Did we run out of ideas? I am wondering about our wonderful new support team and webpage. Where is that?
You might be conflating Rango's DashCentral site w/the Dash network itself.

If you really wanna dig in, you will need to run the Dash-Qt client and open the console. You will also need to note your 3 MN TXIDs. For now, just choose one specific proposal you want to debug and note the object hash.

Run

Code:
gobject getvotes <obj-hash>

...and look for your masternode TXIDs in the output. If you see them there, then they are on the network (keep in mind, this is according to your own Dash-Qt client -- each DashQt-client might see slightly different results due to the nature of a distributed consensus-based system).

Here's an example from testnet:

Code:
gobject getvotes 9d65a7bf1c477477b17aa5167fe4835b7562770047b7203eb7a98af18c5b2d8f

My guess is that your votes are going to be there in the list, or something went wrong w/the setup and they weren't there. I doubt that MN network dropped your votes if they were valid/cast correctly.

Hi all, just a quick update. I have been trying to make sure that my votes are counted and I have decided that they are. I am doing it by changing my vote, waiting 4 hours, then looking at the graph to see if the numbers change. After lots and lots of tests I have decided that all three of my votes are being counted. So the problem must be with dash central.

I haven't done this, but just for a bit of fun and to help me learn more of the techy stuff, I will give it a try. As you say though, its going to be ok.

dashvotetracker gets information from dashninja.pl . The dashninja.pl was reported down recently. Maybe this is the reason of your problems.

You should avoid vote using dashcentral. You give your vote privatekey to them. Dashcentral site owners can vote on your behalf (they dont do it, but they can). Of course if you already gave your vote private key to them this is not the end of the world, you can change your vote private key whenever you wish if you suspect something strange happens there. But the best tactic is to avoid giving your vote privatekey to others, and use gobject to vote. This is much more safe.

And vote for the preproposal in order to separate the network layer from the vote layer. Although there is unanimity that the above preproposal is usefull, nobody funds it (except myself). If you find the preproposal usefull give some dash in order to be able to add it as a proposal into the budget system.

Its hard to imagine unanimity about anything around here. Every single person in agreement? If so it's a first. For my part I (usually) don't get to see proposals until they get to be full proposals. I would like to have more time, but I usually just skim the pre-proposals. This one looks interesting, but my immediate reaction is that it makes things more complicated.

For me, fix the bug in Dash Central. That would have to be done anyway.
