People are not using Dash - question is why? And what can we do to improve adoption?

People are not using Dash - question is why?

1. DASH has significantly less support in stores, financial services, crypto-ATM than other coins.

Examples:
- pornhub.com accepts different crypto coins for payment, but does not accept DASH.
- tu.com - does not accept DASH
- bitcoinmat.org - does not support DASH
- advcash.com - supports LTC, BCH, ETH, ZCASH but does not support DASH
and +1000 other businesses on the list.

2. DASH is losing support from the businesses it was already in and no one in the DASH community asks why this happened?

For example, in 2022 DASH lost support:
- shitcoins.club is the largest network of crypto-ATM in Europe. removed DASH.
- cryptorefills.com is the largest gift card store. removed DASH.

3. Businesses that accept DASH do not support the Dash InstantSend feature.
Because of this, it is not clear to the end user what is the advantage of using DASH for payment and the user chooses to pay in LTC, BCH, ETH, etc.

Example:
coinpayments.net - does not support Dash InstantSend
travala.com - does not support Dash InstantSend
binance.com - does not support Dash InstantSend
All crypto-ATM - does not support Dash InstantSend

What can we do to improve adoption?

1. Integrate DASH into important regional exchanges and crypto-ATMs.
2. Hire an experienced manager who will negotiate with stores/businesses about adding DASH as a payment method.
3. Start developing DASH communities in each country. Right now we have a DASH community only in the USA, Germany, Russia, Italy and Venezuela.

The only way to fix this is to stop funding DCG who's only real focus is Platform Evolution. They do absolutely NOTHING for Dash the Payment Network. If Sam wants to continue work on Platform Evolution then let it be the side project it should of always been. I'm done with dash in it's current state and I'm rearranging my priorities accordingly.

For years, DCG told us, "can't do this, won't do that". Most protocol and governance proposals rejected because DCG is too busy with Platform. Refused to implement any sort of privacy enhancements. No MimbleWimble, no zksnarks / starks, no rollups, NOTHING, because it would break Platform and introduce regulatory risks. No DEX integrations; ThorChain integration was funded elsewhere and still being delayed for whatever reason. Kucoin stopped accepting InstantSend though it might of been fixed now? - not sure. And so the list goes on.

Just unfathomable how someone can suck 60%+ of all treasury funds and get SO LITTLE DONE. Defund them now and don't let them back unless their ask is 25% tops.

Yes, that + stop being obsessed about developing another technical feature that no one cares about.

FIrst of all you need to understand why Dash is being removed/delisted. From my experience there are two major factors driving this:
1. Regulations - and tbh we can do sh** about it - regulators won't listen to us - we have tried hard for years and they ignored everything we've said.
2. Lack of interest / low trading volume. Exchanges/brokers/transmitters are not charity organizations - they need to make money. If they don't make money on Dash (because there is no transactions), they simply delist it.

Taking above into consideration, there is absolutely no reason to work on more integrations on exchanges or payment processors. We have to make sure that there is a DEMAND for Dash and there are transactions happening. We need to have users excited to pay with Dash or to trade Dash.

Focus on marketing, user needs and business needs - no matter how much tech we produce, how many exchanges/processors we integrate, users are the key. Users - not devs, not more sophisticated tech.
You need to inform, market and create demand/excitement for Dash among crypto and non-crypto users in a first place.

i was already discussing this here: https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/i-think-dash-needs-some-changes.53198/

CryptoRefills still not accepting dash. A very recent reply from them said they stopped dash due to "technical issues".

CryptoRefills has a much better selection these days but now we are pretty much dependent on Bitrefill. The dash consumer is losing choice and the opportunity to compare prices. If Bitrefill were to drop dash, where would we go? No one outside the US can use Dash Direct and there are certainly no country specific options like you get with Bitrefill and CryptoRefills.

Converting dash to litecoin or something is an option but it's a pretty ugly option for normies.

"Converting dash to litecoin or something" is not an option. I unfortunately had to do it recently and is is just disgusting experience.
Did they said what kind of tech issues they have? - I'll try to contact them.

Yes, the dash wallet should also be a bitcoin wallet. The wallet should automatically swap between the coins when spending, with appropriate spending controls in Settings.
