Dash Core Team Q2 2017 Summary Call

Would you be so kind and elaborate more on what are the current communication issues in your opinion?
Thanks

There just isn't enough communication from the Core team which leads to us having to speculate about their plans (For example a recent discussion with rafique in the evolution channel in slack.) The recent roadmap and post from Evan were a good step in the right direction. But there should really be 1 person with the sole purpose of communicating with the community. Also, there are a lot of proposals where feedback from core and their experience would be very helpfull.

@UdjinM6 , @AndyDark , @Obusco , @nmarley ,
Would you be so kins and answer the technical questions from the thread?

These would be (I hope I did not miss anything):
•From oaxaca: Can somebody on the call explain the new, upcoming PrivateSend methodology?
•From halso: Can the core team share more on the bitauth proof of concept and the potential applications for a future rollout?
•From bhkien: Is there any plan to reduce proposal cost?
Is there any plan to attract more developers and small size proposals?
•From mastermined: Trust-less masternode shares and voting ETA?
What is the Masternode blinding ETA
Proposal fee changes, other fee changes update
•From chinmi: Given the recent developments in the general cryptosphere, what is the Core team's standpoint on Segwit and its applicability to the Dash roadmap? Same question for LN.

Is there any public testing phase for Evolution? And when?
What about Evolution translations, who is going to do that and when?

Thanks, AjM.

This has been posted already - the underlying mechanisms are the same (which provides the best balance of usability / privacy) but it's mainly the user experience and speed that is improved (e.g. by moving coins into a 'cash' account). Evan is working on ADAPI which has some onion-style routing built in too. It will be in a future DIP but it's not ready for publication yet (and referenced in the roadmap https://github.com/dashpay/dash-roadmap)

•From halso: Can the core team share more on the bitauth proof of concept and the potential applications for a future rollout?

Yes it was initially part of DAPI (subscription transactions for blockchain accounts). @Cofresí can comment further

•From bhkien: Is there any plan to reduce proposal cost?

There were 2 proposals recently to do same but don't think they passed. it's been discussed a lot on other threads here. It's up to the network (I don't think Core Team has a plan to change right now)

•From mastermined: Trust-less masternode shares and voting ETA?

It's in Evo V3 in the roadmap with TBD on the date. That means it's far enough out to not try to specify exact dates as they won't be accurate: https://github.com/dashpay/dash-roadmap

•What is the Masternode blinding ETA

There isn't one for the original proposal (Tor routing) because that's going to break Evolution which needs to be HTTPS based to provide online cash via a p2p API for the web. This has been discussed on lots of other threads here. There are plans for onion style routing in DAPI for users who want that for private send as i mention above.

•From chinmi: Given the recent developments in the general cryptosphere, what is the Core team's standpoint on Segwit and its applicability to the Dash roadmap? Same question for LN.

This has been discussed already on other threads too. Short version: Segwit is a hack designed to facilitate LN for off-chain and result in low on-chain scaling with small blocks and high fees. Dash strategy is for large-scale on-chain scaling with low fees. completely opposite strategy. it's a massive conversation and it's already been discussed in other threads.
