Are there any real plans to build decentralized apps on the masternode network? I didn't know devs are thinking about it. It would really be awesome.

Yes, there are many ideas to build apps on top of the Masternode network. However, we don't have enough people. It's taking all the developers we have to get the basics down for DASH. The good news, though, is that the ability to pay new developers via the block rewards for pursuing their interests in these apps, as long as they get the votes, is going to be a huge boom for DASH.
