There are a lot of countries where it is impossible to get a cell phone anonymously. You can implement your one time dividend idea in these countries. But when the governments demand an ID and a real name in order to allow people to have a cell phone, this is considered as a severe privacy issue and it is not a good thing. If you give dividend only to these countries (by using the SMS otp functionality) then someone may accuse you that you indirectly support the governments of these countries when they spy on their citizents. And that you want this bad government practice to expand worldwide.

The goal of the proof of individuality is this: To prove that you are an individual, while remain anonymous. This is what my proposal tries to solve.

do we want to market dash or do we want to form an advocacy group to promote privacy rights ? i dont know about you but

All i want to do is Market dash to as many people as possible

let this be very clear

do we want to market dash or do we want to form an advocacy group to promote privacy rights ?
I want both.

By the way, regarding cell phone otp, I read this.
Countries such as Australia, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Norway, Switzerland, Thailand and South Africa require prepaid cellphone registration in an effort to prevent terrorism.

And in the United States, similar laws have been proposed in several states, including Texas, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.

we all want everything , but we can't isin't
and also read here.
there is a list of countries where cell phone registration was mandatory in 2013

thats great , looks like the places we want to target all have mandatory registration , we can just give $1 for downloading the app and $1 for referring others , roll out country after another

And here is the list of poorest countries.

Values are expressed in current international dollars, to the nearest whole dollar, reflecting a single year's (2016) currency exchange rates and PPP adjustments.

i think dash can be a driving force in eliminating crushing currency controls and spiralling inflation if we roll out this project carefully.

the biggest missing piece of crypto is distribution , if we can tackle that effectively, we fundamentally change the world

So will we add a proposal asking the MNOs to give 1$ Dash equivalant, using a cell phone one time password , to the citizents of the poorest country (Central African Republic)?
I can contribute to the proposal fee cost, if you want. I am not poor, my entire dash fortune is 0.9 dash. But first lets write down the proposal text.

It's not just about a country being poor.

We should an analysis on whether the country is ready to accept alternate currency ... One of factor is poverty but the most important ones are inflation, currency control, reasonable penetration of smart phones, last but not least SMS otp regulation ( there are some countries that need a permit to send SMS to users )

We need couple of features on the app before this campaign starts

Bunch of videos explaining what dash is and how it can useful in day to day life
Some videos on wHy dash is better than other crypto etc

A map of nearby dash accepting businesses, (I don't want people to just get dash and cash it out , they should spend it ideally )

I think that a proof of importance should be applied to the recipients of the Dash gift.
So that whoever circulates his dash and does transactions, should get more dash (or some kind of voting rights maybe?).
Of course this should be designed carefully, in order to distinguish the true transactions from the fake/virtual ones.

Potentially for now we can measure against app installs and reviews on playstore for the $2 we pay.

If we manage to cross say 1 million downloads that's will be huge boost to dash community and will attract big time exchanges like coinbase and Gemini to list us.

There have many marketing campaigns tried in the past however none have achieved the mass numbers that we seek , the reason is sort of obvious , it's a classic chicken and egg problem , unless we have lot of users ,businesses will not accept dash , unless lot of businesses accept dash people won't start using dash.

Of these two pieces getting users is obviously the more difficult piece ( typical US banks spend over 200-300 USD for getting a user, now that's how important users are). unfortunately so far we only focused on the businesses like Funding pos terminals etc ...this needs to changed.

Using combination of facial recognition and otp verification we can achieve a definite and unique user verification and avoid fraud to a very high level (we can put further checks if needed )

Once a user is verified as unique and new, the user gets $5 and then he/she gets a unique referral id/link using which users earn $5 when their referral signs up , so our total cost per acquisition of a new user is $10. This money although is not good for a typical user in USA or UK ... It's good for users in Nigeria or Venezuela.

If we can sign up say 100k-500k users in a country like Venezuela or Nigeria we have a real shot of making dash go viral in that geography.
We should absolutely put our focus in countries like this (where inflation is super high) instead of USA or UK where people have high faith in their financial system.

Now some people think giving free money is bad idea but here's the deal about currencies , currencies unlike a physical product like food get their value only from its size of network of users so when a large number of people start using dash then everyone starts using that's how it works ..

This app / website need not be run by DASH Core, it will be a separate marketing company per se, so there are no legal liabilities etc

The missing piece in previous crypto air drops was that they didn't have a proper user verification system and the plans bombed. Facial recognition using a simple $10 smartphone can change that.

In Fact, we can give lesser amounts to begin with , say we start with giving $2 for sign up and $2 for referring others and can see how it works ,I bet people in Venezuela or Nigeria will still find this exciting and the best part is as the value of dash rises their balance values keep rising too.

so even if a hacker hacks the database he doesnt get anything useful out of it

Finally, for the amounts that we are giving most people won't find it worth opening their accounts with a crypto exchange and cash it , they would rather buy a coffee or something with that. So we need to make sure we list the business near to the users that are accepting dash right on their app , this encourages both sides as said before.

I understand Evolution will be a game-changer in the crypto space, but remember this, getting users to the platform will remain as difficult as ever.

Now as our market cap rises we can do bigger and bigger campaigns like this .. and one day convince the people of bigger countries to join the bandwagon as well.

Dash is the best currency out there, but unless we come up with the best distribution system too, some else will and they will win the biggest prize in human history ever !

edit: I understand some people have data protection issues , here's a solution for that

All facial data would be hashed at source and the hashed data will be stored which will be used to make comparison and verification( this is similar to password hashing most secure sites do ), so our data will be useless for hackers even if they manage to hack it
great idea, this will make DASH go viral...that's simply increase adoption

wonderful , with the new campaign we plan to give you $1 when verify your phone no and $1 for friend your refer who verifies as well , no strings attached.

But obviously if we suspect fraud , we can reserve the right to not pay anything

let me know how this sounds to you ??

personally i am very excited about the impact of this idea :)

So what is the point of a privacy oriented coin if you have facial recognition?
Also, I know there are clever people working on it, but is biometric data consistent enough to allow hashing it?

this is not for those who are investing in dash , this a free marketing campagin for third world countries , now we have dropped this anyway so no issues per se
