V12 Testing Thread

have one win-qt 64 that hung. its block height was behind current. Now when attempting to quit its hanging here.

Something in .30 is causing a lock up -- I had 16 out of 69 linux 64's do the same.

last debug lines of the win instance below. Same "Assets" hang that I mentioned in slack#development.

Code:
2015-07-26 23:20:59 CMasternodeSync::Process() - tick 4082 RequestedMasternodeAssets 4
2015-07-27 12:56:55 opencon thread interrupt

Ah, gotcha :)

LOL.. it's one of evan's test proposals...
I'm still waiting for your thousand proposals... :)
Hmm, i was not aware that donation generation can be higher/exceed normal coin generation. Gives me a strange feeling...

it's a deficit-based system. I haven't done the math for testnet, but the gist for mainnet is:

cycles last 16616 blocks.
something like (don't have these numbers handy) 16516 blocks pay out 90%
then (something like) 100 blocks pay out to make up the difference (or less if not enough proposals) at the end of the cycle.

So 10% of the coin emission is going to this budget planning... I just got a quick stat from the IRC bot: "last 24h supply of 3157.161180496216 DASH (source:dashninja|1m52s) " meaning around 300 DASH a day or about ~9000 DASH a month is going to the budget. But Evan said if there're not enough proposals approved, the whatever amount of coins not used will never be mined? And the total of DASH will stay the same (or less), around 22mil or so?

Flare, what is your concern? One thing I'm wondering is how the hard fork will turn out, I hope for the best.. :)
First thing I'd like to vote for is payment to you and other devs who have been working hard to get this coin where it is today.
And sure would like to vote for a few Rpi's for you!

Yes, the budget system on testnet creates a ton of extra coins. On mainnet it will reduce the total supply, unless we always utilize 100% of the budget money.

On testnet, budgets are paid every 50 blocks so that we have lots of opportunity to test the system, whereas on mainnet it will happen every 16616 blocks.

eduffield - I got the latest build - win 32bit v0.12.0.30-7b480ac, my four wallets still took a while, DS kept giving messages "timeout" and "idle" but finally now they're mixing.

Doesn't that create an incentive for mn owners to vote down all proposals? I mean, mn owners have a 1000 dash each at least already, and by letting the budget money burn each month, they can reduce inflation, thus protecting their investment.

Maybe the expired budget money should follow the normal path and get mined in the next n blocks?

If they did that they would hurt themselves and i don't think they are that shortsighted. Our devs need to be paid to continue their work. Currently a few apps are in the work and the devs of those apps also need compensated.

Agree but there will come a point (?) when there's little/nothing to do and the budget will not get consumed completely. Then the supply will get cut and you know trolls are gonna take advantage on this (Another change in supply OMG SCAM!!!)

I guess i'm not on BCT and i care less for the trolls there so i'm not thinking of them. We can't please everybody and if we let the trolls control us we'll never try anything or get anything done. :)

Also, I'm sure if this doesn't work well, Evan can always change it.

I think it will come down to whichever offers more upside. Masternode operators will have to concider if destroying the coins is better than the project being proposed. At least it they can't pay themselves with the budget, that would be much worse.

When we get new translations to chew, i hope in time before v12 release?

UdjinM6 - I'm trying to run DS mixing on 4 wallets but something is wrong with DS in this version. DS is either idle or timed out. I've tried the buttons "Reset" and "Try Mix", they can do one denominate tx then back to timedout and idle again.
v0.12.0.30-71c73c1
DS mixing does nothing but sitting idle, after about 5 min idling, now last message is session timed out, no mixing.

Edit: 5 min idle -> 10 min session timed out -> now idle again....
