Would you recommend a new user learn Bitcoin before Dash?

I came to Dash after being involved with Bitcoin for a couple years. Simply because Bitcoin has been around longer, there is more infrastructure and services built up around it -- well established exchanges, wallets, etc. Using Shapeshift, it was almost shockingly easy to get Dash with Bitcoin.

I wouldn't recommend someone getting involved with alt-coins until they are well grounded with Bitcoin. I expect this to change with Evolution, but right now, it seems safer for the new user to learn Bitcoin first.

And almost certainly, a brand new cryptocurrency user shouldn't be investing thousands of dollars to operate a masternode.

Of course caveat emptor is the final word, but as a community it behooves us to do what we can to wisely guide a new user.

I have both and started with Bitcoin first. If I were new to this, I would go straight into Dash. Much easier in my opinion. good luck

They should learn bitcoin, but they don't necessarily have to use it. All those stuff about private keys, the blockchain, transactions, mining, is knowledge one must have in order to understand how crypto works, what are the risks, and how to mitigate them.
