Why You Should Care About and Defend Your Privacy
(no DRK, just a reminder why we are here)

The UN Declaration of Human Rights defined Privacy as this:
No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation. Everyone had the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.

The more we turn a blind-eye to governments and large companies invading our privacy the more it's going to happen. If they think they can get away with it once then they'll keep doing it until they're caught and people fight back. The majority of people don't care as they say that they "have nothing to hide" but that's beside the point. I think what they don't realise is that the more it happens the closer we are to losing every right and every control that we have as human beings.

When did one human or organisation earn the right to remove our privacy rights? They don't have us snooping around their shit watching their every wank or their every purchase so why should we think that it's ok for them to do it to us?! It's more important NOW than ever before for people to spread the word and make the masses aware before it's too late!

For those who are following the political circus in the USA, beware of candidates who say:

“If you create encryption, it makes it harder for the American government to do its job — while protecting civil liberties — to make sure that evildoers aren’t in our midst,” Bush said in South Carolina at an event sponsored by Americans for Peace, Prosperity, and Security, a group with close ties to military contractors.

Bush said, “We need to find a new arrangement with Silicon Valley in this regard because I think this is a very dangerous kind of situation.”
