What is the best desktop configuration to run a masternode?

What about a desktop Dell XPS 8900 with Intel® Core™ i7-6700 (3.4 GHz), 16GB RAM, and NVIDIA® GEFORCE® GTX 745, 4GB, DDR3

or else,
What about a notebook? The notebook Dell Vostro 5480 with Intel® Core™ i7-5500U (2.4 GHz), 8GB RAM, DDR3, 1600 MHz, and NVIDIA® GeForce® 830M, 2GB. It could be enough to run a masternode with good performance?

Windows 10 or Linux Ubuntu?

As you can run a masternode on a Raspberry Pi performance is never (never say never..) a problem.
The main problem running a masternode @ home is that you need a fixed IP or else your loss your place in the payment queue every time you get an other ip from your internet provider.

Must people prefer a cold - hot setup for security reasons.
In this setup your 1000 dash collateral is in your cold wallet that isn't connect to the bad wolf internet all the time.
The cold side is your masternode which of course needs a permanent internet connection but as there aren't any coin in that wallet your can't be robbed if there is a security exploit in that OS.
