Dear Community Members,

I would like to ask for your support with the implementation of Electrum Dash.

Required Skills and work to be done
:
We are looking for a developer talented at crypto-currency related development and knowledgeable about python and C++.
Most of the work that needs to be done is on the server side of the project, dealing with block verification. The developer will need to implement DarkGravityWave and other block related technology into the server to get it to work properly.
The developer will also be expected to document the work, prepare the "operation manual" and run a Electrum-server.

Bounty:
Upon completion and approval of the project, $750 worth of DASH will be paid to the developer. The developer will also be expected to run a Electrum-server.

Recent threads about the progress of this project:
https://dashtalk.org/threads/electrum-dark.3845/

The code needs to be submitted to the official repository:
https://github.com/dashpay/electrum-dash-server
https://github.com/dashpay/electrum-dash

There's also a couple repositories that might be ahead of the repositories above - this needs to be verified by the developer:
https://github.com/ELM4Ever/electrum-drk
https://github.com/ELM4Ever/electrum-drk-server
https://github.com/redtocatta/electrum-drk

As always, we are ready to support you with our experience, tools (Jira, Confluence), advises, clarifications and every necessary help, we can provide during the realization of the task.

Thank you in advance

I spoke with guruvan in IRC a few weeks ago and asked him if he or someone could create a standalone Electrum Dash wallet for us, he said they could. They created electrum wallets for other coins. I'll ask him again.

Why a stand-alone Electrum Dash client - when Encompass already does it?

The issue is not the client (which Encompass already provides), it is the "voluntary" Electrum servers that are required to support such a system. We were 5 servers earlier in the year, now we are down to 3 - and soon to 2 if I don't see any more traffic and donations on this system....

After running a node for the last 6 months - I can tell you that there is no demand for a Dash SPV.... therefore, keep your bogus $750 of Dash... The system has been in place for the last 6 months and almost nobody is using it. Furthermore, you're listing my repo, that has been deleted for months... get real... the electrum-drk-server repo was maintained by Propulsion (who became AWOL recently) and on the client side, Dash is actively maintained (and enhanced) by Encompass.

My donation address, as indicated on the Encompass console, is XoLqTeC5RAZ9ufZj8WeY8qUYqAFRyXbj3o if you stand by your words.

Hi ELM4ever,

Good to see you active on this forum once in a long time.

First off, let me answer your question "Why a stand-alone Electrum Dash client?" .. It was a coincidence that I was on IRC and met someone in the Groestelcoin community where I used to hang out... Found out, for such a small community, they have a nice variety of wallets, and a standalone GRS Electrum wallet is one of them... So out of curiosity I asked one of the members there how they could get it done for their coin.....

For a long time Dash/Darkcoin could not get a "DRK Electrum wallet" going because (as I heard) that we could not fork Electrum to do it because of X11 or whatever. I am not a programmer so I don't know all the details of this issue... Then this person of the GRS community went on and explained to me that, (and I'm going to quote what he said): "the problem back then was to port dgw dgwv2 and dgwv3 into python, nobody wanted to do it or it was difficult, then kefkius ported it since he is only 18 years old, enough time and mazacoin is using it... since he ported it, it opened new doors for other coins like groestlcoin and dash, because we are using dgwv3 also, we were struggling with getting dgw in python also..."

This is why I approached guruvan and asked if he could create a standalone Electrum Dash wallet for us. That DOES NOT MEAN that we're going to ditch Encompass. For users who would like to have a multi-coin hardware wallet, then Encompass is the answer. But for those who do not want to have multi-coins on a hardware wallet, I would like to see a standalone Electrum wallet created for Dash. I hope this is clear to you.

Now I do not appreciate you show up once in a blue moon and post in multiple threads with your anger. You posted here and and then edited asking for payment. You could have said "hey I helped with the server, and would like donation too", and it would be fine. And for the record you did not pay $1500 for Dash like you said on the other thread... This is what you paid for all of the coins on Encompass, not just Dash: https://dashtalk.org/threads/trezor-for-darkcoin.4162/page-3#post-46440

To be honest, many of us still don't know who you are and what you've done. It would be nice if you could be around more often. Many people still do not know that Encompass exists, like someone posted this question here:

https://dashtalk.org/threads/encompass-the-premier-multi-currency-electrum-wallet-incl-dash.5732/

To sum up, I really appreciate your help with the server for Dash-Encompass, and if nobody is using it because nobody knows that the wallet exists. We've been super busy with the development of v12 and the new plan for Dash in the future. I would love to see you stick around, but that is your choice.
