v0.11.1 - InstantX Release

Just updated to 11.1.25 - MN looks to start successfully but if I try to -getinfo I get the following:

"cannot obtain a lock on data directory /root/.darkcoin. Darkcoin core is probably already running"

(google tellms me that looks like Im running a wallet version that is too old?)

I've now redownloaded/reinstalled 11.1.25 twice and I'm getting the same errors. Reindexed with no change in behavior. Currently showing as v11.1.25 on drk.mn

Log snip of MN start below - I'm not too clear on what the discrepancy in the 'receive version message' is - can anyone help?

use getinfo (not -getinfo)

This lines have no info on this particular issue. :wink: Anyway ask him to try to recreate blockchain from scratch (he should remove blocks and chainstate folders first) by using bootstrap https://github.com/UdjinM6/darkcoin-bootstrap

Is there a difference when using the bootstrap to recreate the blockchain and not using it? For instance, I delete and recreate without the bootstrap. (I know it makes It faster but is anything else different?)

There are some internal things different as without bootstrap you are using peers to fetch blocks from them and with bootstrap you load blocks from file. But afaik both options ends up in the same function sequence which does exactly the same job of verifying and writing blocks to disk.

I'm a bit confused about "spork show" on different versions of wallets.
On my wallet v.11.01.25, here's "spork show":
{
"SPORK_1_MASTERNODE_PAYMENTS_ENFORCEMENT" : 1420126342,
"Unknown" : 1444217600,
"SPORK_6_REPLAY_BLOCKS" : -1

}

But on wallet v.11.01.21, "spork show":
{
"SPORK_1_MASTERNODE_PAYMENTS_ENFORCEMENT" : 1420126342,
"SPORK_4_RECONVERGE" : 1444217600,
"Unknown" : -1

}

What does all this mean?

97.5% of 2097 Masternodes are on the current version 11.01.25...

Just right before v.11.2.xx and more updates?
:grin:

We need to slow down and consolidate for next release, I would welcome a zero new feature release stabilising and strengthening the coin.

Precisely what has been happening since last release. Devs have worked full on IX and v.11.1.19 release, so I wouldn't expect any new features in the roadmap for a while, and if they are they'll be testnet.

Got a failed InstantX that only shows on the sender's screen. I guess this is standard?

moli asked in #darkcoin if anyone has any ideas of improvements of the progress bar. I've given this a little thought before, along the lines of: "Hey, this pogress bar doesn't really tell me anything, I'll have to check coin control.." After thinking out loud a bit in the chat room I realized a pie chart would be really neat! Placing a pie chart in the overview tab instead of the progress bar would actually give us something meaningful to look at :) It's just the visualization of the data from the coin control, but easily accessible with minimal effort! I would actually enjoy sitting here watching the pie chart evolve and see in real time Darksend doing its job.

Alternatively if a pie chart has too much detail to be placed in the overview tab, then make the progress bar of today clickable such that a window with a pie chart pops up to show the user more details.

I threw together this pie chart in a hurry as an example of how mixing 9 rounds could look like:

I like it... you're effectively summing the total inputs for whatever number round the rounds column tells you. Probably won't be needing 9 rounds after Evan finishes masternode blinding:

HELP PLEASE!! I updated my masternodes. Now when I open the cold wallet on my pc to restart the master node I get the following message: "Darkcoin- Payment request file handling
payment request file can not be read or processes! This can be caused by an invalid payment request file." The thing is this only happens for 3 of my 5 master node wallets. And those 3 are now offline whereas the other 2 are still online just fine. I made sure after updating and restarting masternode on pc that they did indeed show up in the masternode list. The only thing I change inbetween wallets is the wallet.dat and darkcoin.conf files. How so i fix this error? Thanks

Edit** Also I have not been paid on those 3 since then but have on the other 2. I updated all of them on 2/13/15. I am in process of restarting the 3 now to see if they stay active.

EDIT** OK so It appears that I was launching the QT client on my PC by clicking on my darkcoin.conf file which is set to open using darkcoin-qt.exe. When I opened it directly with the QT client the error went away. I will watch it and report any changes.

:what: You should create link to darkcoin-qt.exe with -conf=c:\path\to\darkcoin.conf command-line parameter instead.
