Translate New Whitepapers

Wow, 16 pages of dense technical jargon. I might give it a read first and translate later when I have some spare time. This paper might take a while.

I know you did the last translation, sorry it will be replaced by this,
i imagine that this is not an easy one !
Take your time and maybe have somebody else double check
tx man

Yeah I translated one white paper before, but If I recall correctly that white paper was only about InstantX so technically it should still stay valid. In fact I would argue that it should be kept around because its explanation of InstantX is way more detailed than the one in the new paper.

On another note. Request for translation should be pitched to the Chinese and Russian members of this community. These two countries are currently the most promising markets for Dash.

I agree
i start here and then (not to double p[ost and get into trouble again)
i will ping them direct after (they are part of the main page translation, so they are on it already i guess)

Should the whitepaper be in source control, with the different translations? It would be easier to track/update.
That's an interesting idea! We can use github wiki for storing/modifying whitepaper en source and transifex for translations just like for the wallet.
I transformed whitepaper to markdown format and here it is in github wiki https://github.com/dashpay/dash/wiki/Whitepaper
I applied some of these https://dashtalk.org/threads/development-update-whitepaper-and-other-news.4696/#post-51669 already (not all of them, only those I feel ok about) but feel free to suggest more edits. And once we clean it up we can push it to transifex.

So i stop this here and you take over with Transfix + GitHub and all that ?

I'm not stopping anyone. I just propose we stabilize en source of whitepaper and then jumped to transifex. But you are free to translate/ask for translations - it's not that easy to translate this one anyway and most of content can be copy-pasted to transifex later with few minor changes to reflect edits we might make to en source.

EDIT: actually, I think I'll upload en source now "as is". We can always reupload updated version later.

Ok, I uploaded it to transifex, feel free to start :)

Note to translators:
use "copy source string" button there and please keep ALL symbols like _ # * etc and even number of spaces at the beginning or at the end of strings/lines - these are markdown formatting symbols and they must stay untouched to preserve proper document rendering.
Thank you :)

Oh f***k, whitepaper, 115 strings to translate, i think work last loong time...

Just finished translating this whitepaper to Polish.

There is wrong reference in string 101. The reference to InstantX should be number 9 not 10.
Also I have changed link in the reference 9 from English version of the InsatantX whitepaper to its Polish translation found here

one more question, maybe fernando can help me.
How can I see the whitepaper translated to Polish as a PDF?

Applied AnarchicCluster fix on github and I updated English source on transifex (there were few En grammar, digest formatting and trailing spaces changes earlier).
And 24 strings became "Untranslated" with no "Suggestions"... But I've backed up all translations before doing this and so I will add "Suggestions" there shortly. Please review "Untranslated" and make them match new versions of En source (after I add "Suggested").

You can download it from transifex in .md or .wiki format (that's just common Markdown file) and use any "Markdown to PDF" conversion tool but you will need to have images so clone wiki from https://github.com/dashpay/dash/wiki/Whitepaper first.

PS. looks like transifex backend just died - "502 Bad Gateway"... stay tuned

EDIT: looks like they "forked":grin::grin:
We made some changes to our infrastructure this week and everything was working fine so far. A few minutes ago, we rolled our first deploy after the changes and for weird reasons it didn't succeed. We are looking into it and should have more details shortly. We are really sorry for the inconvenience.

ok, transifex is up again and I added suggestions to missing translations from backup files. I tried not to mess up there but if anything is not in place - ping me.

Got it, thanks. One more question. Do we have high resolution pictures for this whitepaper? Particularly I need the one showing the decline in reward over the next century. I want to translate description and legend for this picture, but for the love of God I can't read that small font.
