Solo mining with gen=1

I have a specific question with regards to mining using the darkcoin-qt or darkcoind client as opposed to an external client such as minerd.

Has anyone used the darkcoin-qt or darkcoind client with the gen=1 in darkcoin.conf?

And was it able to mine successfully regardless of its efficiency?

Yes, I have mined a block that way. Took about two weeks and I think I was really lucky. Latest gen i7 CPU too.

The number one spot is reserved for the block I solved and also received the masternode payment
