Security used when running a masternode?

I was wondering what security people are using when running a master node? To run a master node it is a wallet with 1000 dash, so that's a big risk to leave on a machine without a hardware wallet, what security measures do people usually use?

1000 DASH sit in a local wallet that you use to start/upgrade masternode so wallet encryption on local machine is highly recommended. If you have few masternodes in one wallet it could worth it to have clean machine that you run just to start/upgrade masternode that have only firewall, antivirus and wallet installed.
At the same time actual working remote masternode have 0 DASH in its wallet so nothing special to secure there just some general linux rules like user management and proper firewall settings.
