IS there any port other than 9333 that needs to be open for the wallet to work? Can't seem to get it running on ubuntu with gufw on lock down.

Pablo.

Hey,
So only 9999? 9333 Not used?

Thanks Udjin.

Pablo.
yep, and it's only needed if you want wallet to listen for incoming connections (i.e. be a masternode for example), otherwise it should work without anything like that right out of the box afaik

To make this more clear, most operating systems / routers / firewalls are configured to let nothing in, but everything out. In this case Udjin's "out of the box" rule applies.

If they block outgoing traffic as well you HAVE to configure port 9999 to allow outgoing traffic (wallet) or in- and outgoing traffic (Masternode).

With windows (not sure ubuntu) when you are port forwarding in the router, make sure the local IP address (something like 192.168.0.2) is correct and preferably fixed in your OS, if you have other computers join the network and the machine gets switched off, the local IP can change to another like 192.168.0.3 and then port forwarding will not work anymore.

Perfect, that clears it up, thanks.
