Payment Enforcement

I just missed a POS reward when the pool zpool.ca did just pay out 0 and kept the POS reward for my MN:

https://www.dashninja.pl/mndetails.html?mnpubkey=XnG9XgEqfb5CPTwh1GjhgKZcGfQ7kypckv

obviously this is only possible when payment enforcement is disabled. It looks like this switch is set centrally by the core dev team. this does not look very well in a decentralized system.

is there some further information available on the architecture? what will be the solution?

As I understand it, enforcement was switched off via a Spork a few days ago to resolve a fork in the chain. Expect enforcement to be turned back on over the coming days.

Pablo.

ok found it: https://www.dash.org/spork/

but how was it possible to switch off payment enforcement then? Secondly if the Spork would be just an information to all nodes to flip a flag to run the new version now it would be ok. But this looks like the dev team is switching on and off features in the nodes.

Yikes! This is not good !
I certainly hope it is resolved quickly.
Miners should be paid promptly !

The spork switches allow us to develop improvements to the consensus protocol without risking hard forks that require all nodes to update their code. These cryptographic switches will be removed/disabled once the protocol improvements mature.

Also, MN payment enforcement has been back on for several hours now.
