Monero vs Dash

I've noticed some of talk up about Monero. Has anyone reviewed Monero and could it be a challenge to Dash?

Same as Peercoin is a challenge to Bitcoin.
Their response about Darkcoin
Darkcoin is in my opinion more dangerous than mere Bitcoin mixing because masternodes can very easily be DDOSed (masternodes' IP are broadcasted in plain text). This means that any sufficiently motivated organisations ("SMO", read: a lot of money, like many government agencies throughout the world, the NSA being far from the only one) can just buy a lot of DRK, set up a lot of masternodes and, using their massive computing power, execute a DDOS on the masternodes they don't own until the masternode's owners give up - this being done over time, to not make the DRK user suspicious, which is all that easy since masternoding naturally encourages killing the competition, since less competition means more money for you, much like the poolmining economy. Once all the other masternodes have given up, the remaining ones are the SMO's masternodes and then the fun begins. Another possibility is to simply issue a subpoena duces tecum (civilist countries have something similar) tied to legal interdiction to ever mention the subpoena (FISA warrant, anyone?). From this point on, honeypotting is just the way to go to gather enough data to convict as much users as possible later on.

When NSA will realize what Dash is it will already cost them zillions to buy significant amount of masternodes  But nothing stops NSA from DDOSing even 6K+ Bitcoin nodes or major pools "using their massive computing power", they could kill even Bitcoin today that way... No coin, no problems. And almost every other coin will die that day... Coinargeddon
Assuming they are not going to do this with Bitcoin I actually see no core issue for us too but just another problem to solve. We can improve masternode blinding so there will be no way for MN to say which output belongs to which input or from what IP they came. I personally like that idea https://dashtalk.org/threads/alternative-masternode-blinding.4387/ not as an alternative but as an addition. It might work but I'm not 100% sure. Or we might need some alert system that recognize massive attacks or at least significant "masternode count" drops to start with and notify user that mixing might not be safe right now. Or we might need some IP hiding technology for masternodes. Or everything of that. Or something else to prevent such attacks or defend against them efficiently... You get the idea

Nice post of majamina: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1001642.msg10900308#msg10900308

OK I plotted the curve:

Here are the numbers of nodes behind the graph - sorry, Excel only renders percentages to 30 decimal places

so I'll do 2 tables, one with percentages and one with numbers.

Well, I have given some time to investage Monero mining and the fact that CPU hash ratio to GPU hash ratio is 1:1 annoyed me a lot. Don't know if it will change with softwares in the future but it is not profitable for me to mine it at the moment as a small time GPU miner. However running a CPU miner for a week now with small amount of hashes to see how it goes. The thing I disliked most is it's wallet.

I might be wrong but it seems like CryptoNote will be superior as long as it isn't cracked, but one day someone might find a breach, and suddenly it all falls down like a deck of cards. To me it seems like Dash provides a more simple and transparent way of hiding the trace, making potential threats more predictable.

EDIT: But anonymity is just one of the features to compare.
