MNOs to rebrand as DARs

Masternode Owner/Operator
For a long time masternode owners have been known as "MNOs". Actually, I think it was me that coined this acronym. But lately I've been reflecting, considering, "masternode owner" is very matter of fact-ish, it doesn't actually say anything about our roles and responsibilities. And sometimes we are introducing ourselves to potential business partners and they have no idea what a "masternode owner" is.

And within the crypto world, masternode owners are sometimes criticized for being rich kids, raking in "passive income", as though our role is insignificant and not worthy. The usual "them and us" socialist criticism. No doubt there are MNOs here purely for profit, but I would argue this is a minority.

It is often overlooked that:
  • a masternode collateral helps to secure the network from sybil attack
  • masternode owners forfeit short term profits as any movement of collateral, in part or whole, ceases reward income
  • the right to vote on governance and treasury disbursements is done so with the interests and security of all stake holders and end-users in mind
I should also note, in the fiat world, an "accredited investor" basically means, someone has attained a certain level of income and free capital. With dash, a masternode owner is provably an "accredited investor", but is additionally constrained and incentivised to uphold the above roles and responsibilities.

With all this in mind, I am thinking we should consider the title Dash Accredited Representatives. That is, we are representing dash and have a verifiable responsibility to the network and our end-users, to serve them accordingly.

Likewise, successful proposal owners should be recognized for their contributions, perhaps as Dash Approved Contractors.

Thoughts?

I think I prefer something like Dash Network Service Provider, emphasizing the role they will be playing in Evolution.

How about 'Investor Security Nodes'....? (As in Eye-Ess-Ens)
Like you say, people don't know what a 'masternode' is. The 'master' part is a bit ambiguous for the layman.

However, the layman might associate an ISN with 'investment' (in Dash) and network security, essentially getting the main ideas of the masternode network across with slightly less ambiguous jargon.

I do concede that 'masternode' does sound cooler, perhaps that alone encourages people to set them up...?

@lord2jays The problem with "Nodes" is that it's not telling the whole story. I mean, we're not just running software, some of us are actively seeking, promoting or initiating side projects. And not least that we hopefully represent and vote for the benefit of all dash users.

I think @jimbursch idea comes close, though I would still like to see "accredited" or "collateralized" in there to make it clear that we have significant skin in the game. At the moment, I would say Dash Accredited Service Providers. Unfortunately, it's probably too late in the game for us to use a new name as "MNO" is quite well established now.
