- Looking for your wallet.dat file ? (this is the file where your actual DRK coins are in)

In your user - Library is the Dash Folder.
The user - Library Folder on MAC is hidden by default.
To unhide (that it is visible and can actually be used):
- Open Finder and navigate to Applications - Utilities - Terminal
- Double Click Terminal

- Type the following command into terminal without the quotation marks
“chflags nohidden ~/Library”

- Press “return/enter” to run the command this will unhide the users library folder.
- Quit Terminal and done.

Now Navigate to the Dash Folder to find your Wallet.dat file
(If you do anything in this Folder make SURE the Wallet is Quit and NOT running !)

- User - Library - Application Support - Dash

(If you do anything in this Folder make SURE the Wallet is Quit and NOT running !)

there it is
wallet.dat ! This is the most Important File, as it contains all your Dash !
you can copy that to multiple USB Drives or other devices at ‘Cold Storage’ your coins and Back them up.

For Masternodes, your .conf file will be in here as well !

I save all my Masternode Details like this:
- wallet.dat
- .conf
+ Text File with
masternode genkey
getaccountaddress 0

In separate Folders (for Multiple MN's) on several USB Sticks !
The Folders (for each MN) i encrypt again (as Double Paranoid) with
Mac Disk Utility (Found in Applications - Utility)
open App
File -New Disk Image
select Folder
encrypt (deselect save password)
Save this password ! (if you lose it, you can NOT open the encryption !!)

And done !
Hope this helps

since the 0.11.0.X Release, I have the following problem on my mac (see attachment). Now I have to start the client in the disk-image.

Any ideas how to copy the program on my local harddisk?

you are saying you can not copy the (new) app into the application folder ?!
as an old one is there and can not be replaced ?

yes, exactly.

In the past, the mac overwrote the program without any problems. But now I have a solution for that: Delete the old program in the application folder. It didn't worked with the last release, but with this one, I can now copy the new DarkCoin Client to my application folder, very strange

FYI, I am on 10.10.2 and have had no issues. (with testnet nor with production)

The instructions look okay. The icon changed a bit, but rest looks current/accurate.

May be a very basic question, but I am not a tech guy and new to crypto currency:
Instead of copying the wallet.dat file for cold storage, would copying the whole Dash-Qt file from Applications do the same trick?

No, Dash-QT app know nothing about your wallet.dat (and doesn't contain it), it grabs wallet from location you specified (or from default one if you didn't specify anything).
Default location to store wallet.dat and other related data is ~/Library/Application Support/Dash/ but you can point the same Dash-QT app to another locations and work with different wallets from the same app.
