PROPOSAL LINK: https://www.dashcentral.org/p/feedbands

Just wanted to post an update and say thank you to everyone who has supported our proposal. We are excited to bring cryptocurrency to the music world.

Integration:
Our engineers and designers have begun the integration and we will likely be testing an alpha payment integration before the end of the month.

Festival:
Our event production partner High Beam has assured us that obtaining the necessary licenses and permits will be smooth sailing since they have existing relationships with the city of Austin. The permit submission deadline is just a few weeks away so we are racing to finalize the event layout and get the submission in.

We sincerely hope that folks from Dash come out to the festival in Austin, Texas from March 15 to 17th. We have flights and lodging to arrange for approximately 80 people (15-20 musical groups times ~4 people in each group)

Since you have two projects that have been funded by the budget, I suggest that you create separate threads for updates, to keep the projects sorted. Also please include a link to the proposal at the top of the thread so we can easily refresh ourselves on the content of the proposal.

Congratulations on getting your proposals passed! We look forward to seeing the results of your efforts.

Thanks for the suggestion, proposal links have been added to the top of both threads.

It's going to be an exciting few months!

Our developers have informed us that we will have a beta integration complete and live on site by January 20 and possibly sooner.

Feedbands has hired a dedicated point person, Sierra, to handle all coordination with artists for the upcoming event. She is responsible for handling all flights / lodgings / visa requests and artist payments. We have nearly 80 musicians flying out and staying in Austin for our event with an average of 4 people per musical group and 20 musical groups.

Sierra began making all their travel arrangements today.

Meanwhile, High Beam, the event production company, is just about ready to submit for all our permitting and licensing. They have assured us repeatedly that they can leverage their relationships with the city to guarantee 100% that we will get all the permits and licenses that we need for the event.

testing our alpha gear - it works!

this page will get prettier

Quick update, we're ordering 1200 extra wristbands for our event and sending them to our friends at Anarchapulco free of charge for use at their event.

Quick update to address the downturn in the Dash price.

Since our proposal closed, the value of dash has dropped by hundreds of dollars and lost nearly 50% of it's value with the second half of our payout distributing to us in just a few days.

Everything we have promised is still happening and we will pay out of our own pockets to make it all happen if we have to. However, we have naturally had to make some changes to account for the hundreds of thousands of dollars that has been shaved off the value of our Dash payment. The biggest change we have made is the venue: we have switched from the parking lot that we originally envisioned to an incredible Coffee House with an outdoor stage and indoor seating area. Total capacity is still in the hundreds and this venue has actually been the Spotify house for the last several years at SXSW. We figure, if it's good enough for a multi-billion dollar streaming company's presence multiple years in a row, it's good enough for ours and for Dash's :). Also our artists have agreed to accept a little bit less in terms of payment.

This is essentially the only change to the plan.
  • The new address of the festival is now 1010 East Cesar Chavez
  • All the same artists are coming, all their flights and lodgings have been booked and paid for
  • All the dates of the festival are still the same: March 15, 16 and 17 (it's coming up!!)
  • bracelets have been ordered (including an extra 1200 to send to Anarchapulco)
  • the integration of the website is full steam ahead and we have already begun testing it on staging & it's working great
  • some great press writeups/placements have already been secured
I'll continue to keep you posted with any updates. This is going to be a tremendously successful event. Even though the new venue is a little smaller in terms of footprint, we still believe we can onboard just as many people into the dash ecosystem (1500) and this new venue is even closer to the convention center (only two blocks away) which is the "hub" for most of the activity that week.

Additionally, there will be beer / wine / tacos / coffee / lattes / all available for DASH ONLY and cost just 25 cents.

Today Feedbands' communicated to all of our artists that they will need Dash wallets to continue selling music and merch on Feedbands. We'll keep you posted on adoption.

Hi Feedbands,
The Festy team are about to land in Austin! It'll be good to meetup. What time does your concert start on Thursday?

Awesome! The event is March 15, 16 and 17, 2 to 10pm.

You will need a dash wallet to get in ;) something tells me that won't be a problem.

Address is 1010 E Cesar Chavez

See you there! (and don't forget to come hungry and thirsty :)

Also, if the Festy team is still around for a day or two after I'd love to connect and get dinner or a drink.

We are about to drop LOTS of content for this, the event was an overwhelming success.

We hit capacity at our venue every night. The line to get in was literally around the block. All food and drink was sold ONLY for Dash. Complete newcomers to crypto got dash on the spot and spent it all night long and came back the next day and spent it all day long.

We did thousands of real world transactions in crypto. People had never seen so many crypto transactions happening in their lives. We are on to something!!!
