facelift for android app

Our current android app works well technically (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hashengineering.darkcoin.wallet ) , but its not world-class. The screenshots are all super boring , the colors and UX suck, There's no video explaining how it works , last but not least the url says hashengieerning darkcoin ... please change that as well...

if we are really serious about reaching millions in third word countries , Android is the way to go.

i think we need to get professional help on making it more user friendly and to make it look sexy.

if @HashEngineering is interested , we can provide them with funds from our upcoming proposal , if not we need to think of other alternatives , nevertheless we need to get serious about this.


Now don't tell me we need to wait till evolution wallet rolls out, i will murder you ;)
 
I actually consider Dash Android wallet pretty functional. Colors are Dash colors, so I don't really see the need for a change there.
I agree that it certainly can be made better, so I would like to see some concrete proposals on what could be improved.
 
I have rarely recommended it. Looks terrible / overwhelming, and what's that "Disconnect" thing all about? Not actually asking, I just mean to say, stuff like that is totally distracting for complete newbies.

Your statements are well taken. The design of the app is largely based on an older design of the Bitcoin Wallet from years ago. While we did update the appearance, the over all design is still the same despite minor changes over the years from the Bitcoin Wallet developers.

Currently I am a contractor for Dash Core and my expertise lies in backend of the development (Dash network protocols, data, encryption, etc). InstantSend works in this app. What is needed is an android developer that specializes in Android design and user interfaces. There is a plan to hire such a developer by the Dash Core Team.

Regarding the URL: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hashengineering.darkcoin.wallet. Yes, it still includes Darkcoin to allow for upgrading from Darkcoin to Dash from years ago. If we change the application id (in the url), then all the users will also need to download the new app and then transfer their coins over, then remove the old app from their phones. There are better and worse ways to handle this to ensure a smooth transition. This may be chosen as a way to go.

What about the interface of bread? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.breadwallet as compared with the current Dash Wallet?

thanks for your response , i think excellence is never ending exercise and our android app has a huge room for improvement there no doubt in that. we need a UI/ UX developer for sure , do you want to post another contract this time including a UI/ UX developer instead of waiting for the core to provide you with one, coz this is really urgent requirement.

the bread wallet does look good, but we need to customize lot of things as per our requirement.
 
Isn't the Evolution (Copay based) wallet just going to make the current iOS and Android apps redundant?
