Hi all,
It's been a while since my proposal got approved thanks to you.
And before I start with the updates, I want to say again that it was nice to meet in person in Vienna with Simon and Joel and hopefully we will see each other again in future.
And once again, thanks to Dandy for helping me out with this month's meetup!
Now, let's get to business.
Done so far:
- We held a blockchain workshop on biggest startup event here - Belgrade Venture Forum.
We showed people how blockchain and cryptocurrencies work by giving an example of yummy coins (chocolate bars) with 3 volunteers who wanted to send some yummy coins to others and then there were 2 of us who played the role of miners and doing some "hashes" of their transfers.
It was a pleasure to be part of BgVf, and also making this workshop. Also, after the workshop and introduction to Dash, we got unexpectedly high interests and questions regarding the usage and state of Dash currently.
- We held (un)expectedly low number of attendees this month since the only available slot for the venue was when we have "slava" an orthodox thing of praising the saint which is one of the biggest here, and all people were at slava or having slava of their own. But, we are more than prepared for the next event which will be held probably on December 13th.
- I've been asking around in a couple of local cafe's if they would be interested in implementing Dash as a payment option, and 2 of them actually would consider about it, which is a great thing to start from, but we need to make it legal first.
- So how will we make it legal? Well, there are two options.
1st - Speak to the government and see if they will approve Dash as an official payment option (which is not going to happen anytime soon even if we start talking with them right now)
2nd - Make PoS terminal which will exchange Dash payments into local currency and that way make it legal.
And now the bonus part - We are planning to make 2nd part official, and we started brainstorming about it, and also local bank is interested in blockchain and maybe, just maybe it's possible to get Dash debit card by them (hopefully globally!), but that's for a long run, we will see how will it go from next year.
Here are some pictures from blockchain workshop.
There is more to come, so stay tuned!
