Creating a masternode before having 1000 Dash?

Hi,
I'm thinking of investing in getting a Masternode setup but need to raise the funding for it first. In the meantime, is it possible to setup and configure Masternode? Then once I have the 1000 Dash it will become operational.

Welcome to the forum!

Sure, you can finalize the setup of the server without having 1000 Dash and as soon as you have the Dash you just need to issue a start command to activate it.

Will someone suggest use of a MN share hosting service ?

It is possible to participate with less than 1000 DASH.

Hi Holger, following Reuben's guide https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/reubens-detailed-masternode-setup-and-maintenance-guide.7984/ I was able to set up a masternode on a ubuntu 16.04 desktop. Really easy and straightforward to do. Just got to get saving now! :)
