Baikal Miners Scam Websites (As-Shop, MinerShop)

Just wanted to let everyone know of a few recent scam websites that have popped up with the recent Baikal miners shortage.

As-Shop - https://as-shop.su/
MinerShop - https://minershop.biz/

I did some research and contacted them several times. We corresponded back and forth for a bit. It had all the smells of a scam. One of the addresses they use is a California address that is actually an ad agency of some sort, they wont take PayPal, some of their answers were inconsistent and dodgy, no privacy or returns pages, sub-par English sentence structures, etc.

I went ahead and placed an extremely small order to test them. And of course, they stopped responding. I think it was worth the relatively small amount in order to serve accurate information to our community.

SO, stay away from these sites like the black plague! Matter of fact, if you are skilled in hacking, you should try to have some fun with their sites [:

Here are a few more scams and tips:
- baikalminers.com (should be www.baikalminer.com without s at the end for the official shop, same goes for skype accounts not exactly matching)
- idealyticminer.com (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1666724.0, does not look too good)
- Some websites like asicminermarket.com work for some people, but cause headaches for other: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1808637.0
- Aliexpress/Alibaba miner links are either way crazy expensive ($100k for a miner??) or they just lie have have none in stock: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pr...-power-supply-Better/1501324_32671859694.html
- There are many more sites, after a while you just close them all and give up ^^
- There are many horror storries about people buying miners or other things from china, sending btc and never getting anything: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1719604.0
- Anyone or any site that sells way under market value is suspect
- I would also not use any cloud mining as it will take a long time to make the money back and it looks like 95% of them are complete scam, even the ones that are older work in very suspect ways with pyramid schemes and cause more trouble than it is worth. If you really want to mine, buy mining power or sell your hardware mining power, check out https://www.nicehash.com/ from there you can figure out how to do things manually for coins, but in most areas it is not really worth it if you don't have special hardware or very low electricity costs

Yes, The official site is http://www.baikalminer.com/ and they are the real deal and producers of the Baikal miners (the only ones left). They have changed their website a week ago and already sold out their first batch of cube miners (300mh/s) in the first days. The response time also ranges from hours to days, they are a bit overwhelmed. Details on whats going on (very long thread): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1835352.0

Other unconfirmed ways to get a new baikal cube miner from resellers (high risk, there always could be a scammer, do your research): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1862209.new or join the group buy for the next batch (unconfirmed when that will be, also the interest is crazy high and there are non available from baikal directly): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1864345.0
Also: It is probably not worth it to buy a miner for 2x or 10x the price from resellers as the ROI (return of investment) is more than a year in some of this cases and worse if the mining difficulty goes up: https://www.bitmart.co.za/en/product/baikal-cube/ or many fishy ebay or aliexpress resellers:
http://www.itopshop.net/baikel-miner-cube-300m-x11-x13-x14-x15-quark-qubit-batch-1-p-304.html
http://www.ebay.com/itm/282387949658?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2649
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Baikal-Cube...133594?hash=item2f01c4bd1a:g:F9wAAOSwRUhY8sCE (3 times as expensive)
... and so on ...

I do not have experience with them, but always hesitated to order anything from them. asicminermarket.com resell baikalminer for more expensive prices and adjust the prices over time and sometimes just don't deliver and force users to pay more to get them finally. Very shady business, but I am not aware of anyone actually not getting their miner or at least their money back .. some actually got stuff from them, but way back when dash was not that high ..

I paid a Giant with PayPal, and I'm glad I did, because after ordering it and getting the receipt, I emailed, Skype and contacted them through their webpage on an almost daily basis, with no answer. After 2 weeks of no response or signs that they had shipped the product, I ended up contacting PayPal, and they returned my money.
I wouldn't touch them with a 10 ft pole.

I do not have heard from them, the website looks kinda normal, but the products are a bit old and the prices are kind of normal, however it is unlikely that they have everything in stock and are also cheaper than most legit sites. The also have fake reviews (but that is quite normal nowadays, even on Amazon). The have no valid looking contacts, no confirmed website, no imprint, etc. My first guess would be scam, no way to trust them, especially if they don't do escrow or paypal.

Scam adviser gives them a low rating, says site is located in Island, but really in japan and they are a seller in china, wtf? http://www.scamadviser.com/is-x11asicminers.com-a-fake-site.html
The site is also less than a month old, never a good sign: https://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/x11asicminers.com

PS: More scam sites listed here, if you see a new site that is similar, it is most likely a scam: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1326821.0

Also check the forum on bitcointalk about scam sites they have a quite active community: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

I ordered a Baikal Giant for $2900 from asicminermarket.com 17-03-26 got it after 10 days. No problem.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Did you mean 17-03-16? If so, that makes sense, as it was over a year ago, before Dash's price sky rocketed. It's good to know that at least they delivered to someone before everyone wanted their ASIC.

On that same note, asicminermarket gave my Skype ID (which I used to constantly contact them) to some random person who wanted to know more about Baikal, which I am in no way, shape or form part of.

I thought that was really weird, and the fact that they never did get back to me with so much as an apology, makes me want to stay away from them and advise other to do likewise.

Baikal was sold out everywhere but I checked all the stores every 1 hour. After a couple of days 7 Giants was available at asicminermarket. I managed to get one of them. The rest sold out fast.

I guess that's another way. Stay glued to their website hitting F5 every hour until there are orders there.

Good move and very nice payoff! How much did they sell the Giants for?

Folks - Has anyone purchased directly from baikalminer dot com with no "s" i.e. the official Baikal site? Transferring BTC or USD based simply on an email exchange makes me nervous. They have asked me to send the USD money to Vitcore Holdings Ltd in Singapore with the United Overseas Bank. What has been your experience please? Did you get working goods? Many thanks.
