    Pretty scared

OMG, so confusing! Just in case I can help, I'll give you the system i used until I got a trezor. I use 7zip and keepass2. 1. First time I open my wallet, I encrypt it, so there never is a time when the wallet.dat exists without encryption. 2. I store the encryption password on my...

What do you consider medium term (10 years?) Just think about how fast Paypal took over internet payments. And they used to be so inexpensive to use! They've since doubled their fees, so I think a lot of people will hook up to a system where the fees are almost non-existent. But the degree...

I'm not so sure that mass adoption would require catastrophic failure. If we can service merchants and consumers at even 1% cheaper, we would slowly gain ground, but instead we're talking, probably an average of 3% savings for using Dash. Better still, people, after a few years, will see some...

@GeauxSheaux I can only speculate, but frankly I think it's just that we've finally proven ourselves to the movers and shakers. I've always felt Dash was HUGELY undervalued, still do. It's hard to get attention through the crypto sphere noise. It also takes a while to digest how Dash works...

Fiat to Dash simply doesn't exist for most people right now. I don't know for certain, as I never used shapeshift, but I think you'll get a better conversion rate from BTC to Dash at an exchange, that was what I was trying to say. I also have to buy BTC, then move to Dash at poloniex etc...

Look for local Bitcoin meetups, perhaps? Not only can you possibly buy some coins from people, but you may get insight as to how they buy. Is there really no service in India? I see this company when I search buying Bitcoin: https://www.unocoin.com/ Once you have Bitcoin, you can transfer...

Can't detect valid external address - unable to start MN

The dash.conf file is for the remote / server side (the computer that stays on with a running dashd node) But the local, funded wallet needs the masternode.conf file. Do you have it set up this way? Make sure you're following a current tutorial, like the ones on the Dash wiki (posted by tungfa)

Maybe I'm just not "smart" enough to get it, but...

You also can't compete against the big boys who buy those ASICs in bulk, not just cheaper but first. They reap the rewards of cornering the massive amounts of hash they add to the system, and only the second round of ASICs are sold to the rest of us. I couldn't even earn half my dash back off...

Legal Research - Marco Santori - Cooley LLP

It's very good that we've done our due diligence here. Nobody can say how the law will be interpreted, but we've done as much as possible to be reasonably assured we're doing things the right way. So glad this was done! Thanks!

    hello everyone

Hi :) There is no maximum block chain size, it will grow indefinitely, or until there is a solution, such as trimming to remove irrelevant info - say after 10 years or so? The nice thing is that Dash will have decentralized access to the blockchain, so users won't have to keep a copy on their...

    Masternode with Trezor?

I've got questions :) 1. can I run more than one MN on my trezor, and would I do that by simply putting them in the Masternode.conf file like usual? Thanks for any help :)

Public Service Announcement ! (No Trolling)

I agree. The gloating on BCT talk is pretty embarrassing and Petty. Not only does it make us look unprofessional, but it actually shows the trolls how much they've hurt you.

DASH Business Development Strategy Update - FEB 2017

@camosoul @UdjinM6 I think this problem would best be resolved by making all transactions instant send transactions and even thought that was the idea when Evan originally proposed Evolution. I thought the only reason we haven't done that yet is because we wanted to vet it through use, see if...

Dash has cancer, take a look at the xray...

There is always risk in accepting money of any sort. Look, if you find this to be unacceptable, that's fine. I don't. I see it as a very good service that will help Dash become more acceptable to business. Neither of us can ultimately have "our way", because businesses will do what they do...

Dash has cancer, take a look at the xray...

Who says they can't accept anonymized large payments? Firms can accept whatever they want. They won't accept any Dash without covering their asses though if there were no way to quantify risk. Coinfirm does this with Bitcoin as well. Private Send is only one variable in their analysis! It's...

Dash has cancer, take a look at the xray...

Coinfirm, as I understand it, doesn't view the use of Private send in itself as a negative thing. I don't know all their metrics, but basically, the company puts a risk analysis on each transaction a firm accepts. There is always a risk, including with cash vs checks vs whatever, and that's...
