    What's your theory?

True, but it will also be vulnerable to a blacklist attack. Decentralization is important, and I think GPU mining is enough to discourage botnet attacks. Plus, I like mining!

    List of future development ideas

I think it would be great if something like the Tor protocol was built into the DarkCoin Qt. As long as addresses can be easily linked to IP addresses, DarkCoin isn't as anonymous as it could be. Along the same lines, it would be nice if a new address was generated every time you send or receive...

    What's your theory?

Sounds like they aren't going to do it. They realize that a hard fork would be suicide unless almost everyone went along with it, and that even if they did it would only delay the inevitable in terms of ASIC mining. People who want an ASIC resistant litecoin will just mine Hirocoin (though its...

What other altcoins are DRKcoiners into?

You bet! I agree, the biggest question in my mind is how they'll prevent massive blockchain bloat. Also, any contract related to something external (e.g. fiat currency values, who wins the world series, etc) is inherently vulnerable.

Anyone else thinking of buying up some more GPU's?

Is this actually happening? If people really are unloading their GPU's at a discount I would definitely want in.

    What's your theory?

That's really interesting about LTC possibly hard-forking to X11. I don't know how serious they are about it, but if they did it would make me so happy... especially if it happened on the day the first scrypt ASICS came out.

Capital controls in Greece: Greek language Wiki a good idea perhaps?!

Yeah, the government is incredibly corrupt and always had been. Given that it's amazing how successful the socialists have been. I wonder what would happen if they found themselves unable to collect taxes on most of their citizens?

Capital controls in Greece: Greek language Wiki a good idea perhaps?!

There's already Greececoin and CyprusCoin, but both seem to be non-starters - the GreeceCoin developer in particular doesn't seem to know what he's doing. A big part of the problem in Greece is the taxes. I have relatives in Greece, and they have actually sent us money to buy shoes and clothes...

What other altcoins are DRKcoiners into?

I haven't had a chance to delve into the white paper yet, but the idea with Etherium is that it comes with a built-in programming language, so you can embed code into your coin, which in turn is embedded into the blockchain. That makes the coin incredibly versatile. For example, you can build in...

Mining suggestions for an i5 and NVIDIA

For CPU mining, you could also look into Primecoin or Vertcoin.

What other altcoins are DRKcoiners into?

Typically when I'm not mining DarkCoin I'm mining bitcoin (via switch pools). I'm really interested in coins that offer some utility to the user, so I'm thinking about getting into MasterCoin, and am definitely planning to buy up some Ether when they open for business. Etherium is really...

    Logo discussion

The internet is a dangerous tool, Saruman! We don't know who might be watching... Obviously I'm not artist, but if the people like the concept then someone competent could touch these up.

    Windows Mining Walkthrough

Nice! My only suggestion would be that you might want to include a line about how to find out your latency to each node, since you say to pick one with low latency.

Bitcoin to be taxed as property, not currency by IRS

I have two major questions about the new IRS guidelines. I realize you all probably aren't tax experts, but if anyone knows the answer to either of these, I'd be really grateful. 1. Price increases don't count as capital gains if the coins aren't held as an investment. How do you not hold coins...

SGMiner using to much CPU cores

I noticed this too, and I discovered a really weird fix. To begin with, I'm mining on a computer with an AMD GPU and build-in Intel graphics. The Radeon driver was HP specific, and I had to download a third-party driver in order to overclock the gpu. Last but not least, I connect the computer to...
