    Pre-proposal: Grassroots Crowdfunding System

Dash transactions can't be "reversed" as such, so I assume you mean this method involves undoing then with a compensating transaction. I imagine it must work like this: For example, say 5 backers will fund 20 DASH each to make a total of 100 DASH for a proposal. They each send to a P2SH address...

    Pre-proposal: Grassroots Crowdfunding System

This sounds like a more secure solution, although it would be more complex. (Backers would need to sign a message from their address to prove ownership, like proving masternode collateral.) What I can't picture is how this would work after that. I think you mean that each backer would have to...

    Proposal: Professional Recruiting

I don't understand the comparison. Wikipedia is a publishing system, and each writer contributes the own little bit to the total content. It's an additive system. Dash governance is a decision making system. Anyone can add proposals, like anyone can add content to Wikipedia, but the voting...

    Proposal: Professional Recruiting

Very true! And there's an excellent book about what happens if you try.

    Proposal: Professional Recruiting

There is a good reason to do it this way. The amount of time masternode operators have to read, analyse and vote on proposals is limited, and they don't have access to all the contextual information about how development is working day to day. Masternode operators simply aren't able to collect...

    Proposal: Professional Recruiting

Doubling the team size at once is incredibly rapid growth. My gut feeling is that if they were brought in all at once, the even if the recruitment company takes all of the admin work off the core team, that the new team members will still be a huge drain on the existing developers. They won't...

Is Segregated Witness also coming to DASH?

It's not really possible to have a shortage of money (not cryptocurrency anyway) as long as that money is suitably divisible. Even if there is only 1 dash in circulation, it can still be used to transact, as long as the system supports enough decimal places to chop it up. The same is true of...

Is Segregated Witness also coming to DASH?

I agree that I don't think this needs a vote. It seems to be working quite well that the masternodes elect a core team, and then the core team makes technical decisions. I always saw the block size limit vote as more of a publicity stunt to show off Dash's governance – the core team would almost...

Is Segregated Witness also coming to DASH?

SegWit isn't the only way to improve the Dash blockchain, Flexible Transactions is another. While there is no immediate risk that Dash will hit a capacity limit (it currently has 4x the capacity of Bitcoin, and could easily absorb all current Bitcoin traffic), there is time to explore many...

DASH WILL NEVER BE SUCCESSFUL if it does not solve this Problem

To the best of my knowledge, thats not how Gresham's Law works. I believe Gresham's Law works like this: if 1oz of gold is worth 10oz of silver on the free market, but the government passes a law that 1oz gold = 20oz of silver, gold becomes twice as valuable according to the decreed exchange...

Could Dash be merged to Bitcoin some day?

How would it work if BTC holders could acquire DASH through proof-of-burn? And would it be more desirable than letting people simply sell their BTC for DASH?

    Version 12.1 Release

Actually, yes. After your rant about the imaginary marketplace and your vitriol towards @tungfa for his "deception", I genuinely can't make any sense out of what you are saying. I apologise, perhaps I am just not paying close enough attention to the conversation here to understand everyone's...

    Version 12.1 Release

That's not how software version numbers work. The number after the point isn't a decimal fraction, it's an integer. Dash could go to version 0.101.0 if it wanted. 0.x.y indicates that the API is not considered stable. The Semantic Versioning site explains this in more detail.

    Is "masternode" a good name?

My dictionary gives one definition of "master" as an adjective: main; principal: the master bedroom It seems valid to consider a masternode as a main or primary node, and this doesn't imply any master-slave relationship. There may be a better name for masternodes, but I don't think the current...

    Version 12.1 Release

Is this possible if 100% of miners are on 12.1? It seems a bit backwards if large merchants can veto or delay protocol changes by not upgrading. Surely it's the responsibility of merchants to update to the latest version as agreed by masternodes and used by miners? Sent from my iPhone using...
