UPDATE: Dash at SXSW 2018

I will use this thread to post and update the community on our work.

We have officially secured a sponsorship for the SXSW Accelerator. We have also finalized our team. It includes the CEO of a large insurance and financial services company (more to come on this), a very active Philanthropist in Austin, the CTO of an Inc 500 fastest growing company, the founder of a large marketing company, a very prominent developer who has made contributions to the Angular framework, and a startup founder.

We are currently securing all the gear and materials we will be using at the conference, and working on our full page ad. We have also collaborated with feedbands and will be directing traffic to dashinformer.com as we both will attend SXSW.

I hope to post our accelerator magazine ad in the next few days.

UPDATE

Our Proposal was for DASH to sponsor the 2018 SXSW Accelerator Pitch Event and Awards Ceremony. Our primary goal was to expose DASH to technology entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors and technology leaders participating in the Interactive portion of SXSW. Due to the decrease in market value, we did not take advantage of the supplement magazine or social advertising but did secure the title sponsorship for the SXSW Accelerator Pitch Event and Award Ceremony. This realized excellent exposure to an intelligent sector of technology enthusiasts.

SXSW (South By Southwest) dedicates itself to helping creative people achieve their goals. Founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas, SXSW is best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries. The event, an essential destination for global professionals, features sessions, showcases, screenings, exhibitions, and a variety of networking opportunities. SXSW proves that the most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together.


View Spotlight on SXSW 2018:

The audience of SXSW is a recognized resource for intelligent people to develop their careers, by bringing together people from around to globe to meet, learn and share ideas. In 2017, it was reported that 421,900 participated in SXSWeek, with 70,696 attending the conferences. The largest group of attendees were male at 54%. The largest age group of attendees were 25-38 at 38% followed by 35-44 at 33%. It should be noted that 37% earned more than $150,000 annually.


The 2018 SXSW Accelerator Pitch Event

The 2018 SXSW Accelerator Pitch Event, with DASH recognized as title sponsor, featured 50 interactive technology companies from 10 different categories. These companies presented their business pitch to a live audience and participated in Q&A with a panel of judges. 25 companies presented on Saturday, March 10 and 25 companies on Sunday, March 11.

• This event was promoted extensively on the SXSW website, SXSW event mobile app, SXSW print brochures and general SXSW event marketing materials, representing DASH as the title sponsor.
• Each of the presentations were recorded by SXSW and broadcasted online for future viewing mentioning DASH as the title sponsor.
• At the opening and close of each of the 10 categories, DASH was recognized and thanked for participating as title sponsor of the event. The emcee also provided a summary explanation of DASH.
• Our DASH Team attended the Pitch Event and networked with attendees and participants.
• 2500 DASH business cards were distributed by the DASH Team.
• A representative from our DASH team participated on the Hyper-Connected Communities Technology panel as a Judge.

The 2018 SXSW Accelerator Award Ceremony

On the evening of Sunday, March 11, the SXSW Accelerator Awards Ceremony announced a winner from each category as well as an overall winner of the Accelerator Pitch Event. The emcee for this event was Bob Metcalf.

• At the Pitch Event, promotion was extensive with technology founders, venture capitalists, angel investors and conference enthusiasts in attendance. DASH was represented as the title sponsor to this standing room only venue.
• At the awards ceremony, DASH was mentioned and thanked by the emcee as the title sponsor. A brief overview of DASH was included in the open statement of the event.
• This presentation was recorded by SXSW and distributed online to various media outlets.

The 2018 SXSW Accelerator Demo Day

On Monday March 12, SXSW held a Demo Day for the featured technology companies and the winners of the Pitch Event. DASH was recognized at the title sponsor.

The exhibit was held in conjunction with the SXSW Trade Show and gave all conference attendees the opportunity to meet, learn and share ideas with Accelerator Participants.
