Governance question?

lynx

Correlation is not causation and it's totally irrelevant in our case.

You are selectively responding to points you can combat. What about the banking and oil sector? It's proven those are paid much better than the rest.

Hmm, now I'm starting to understand why site for decentralized voting has name dashwhales.org :smile: Maybe some pricedrops will improve governance mechanism eventually :wink:

Dashwhale was bad choice of name for such a site. Fat whale banker sucking on a cigar motif. Sends the wrong message, I agree.

This is a community website though, created by a member You can also vote from the wallet directly just that it's bit rough, unpolished still.

Don't you think that the tenth decile in Nigeria has a little bit different wealth then the tenth decile in Switzerland? :smile:

Very good point.

You can have a talented developer from say Ukraine or Russia, India or China that earns less than $500//month but is well educated and smart as compared to some newspaper delivery guy from Switzerland who earns 5x-6x times that but is dumb as a rock.

"Convince your friends it's worth their 1000 bucks." - what I mean by that is get 5 people to get or 2, or 3 and create some kind of agreement to invest in a masternode.

How do you guys estimate the number of real people behind all masternodes? I mean I would say that there is about 1000 people who have 3500 MNs in summary. Is real number smaller than 1000 or bigger? I'm just curious.

If voting is privilage why not to start taxing it for ordinar users? MNs could continue to vote freely.

Any number anybody comes up with would be a guess. There is no way we could ever be 100% accurate even with mounds of data. Sure there could be ways to make rough estimates, for instance checking timestamps on each vote and categorizing* them into groups by hours, minutes, and seconds?

Honestly though I have no idea? I'm just a construction worker whose hobby is computers.

So, summing up my thoughts I've come up with this draft. Keep in mind that I'm not good with english)

Adding feature of fractional voting for all users who locks somehow(?) their DASH in collateral for a let's say a month

PROS:
1) DASH will be the first cryptocurrency which supports direct decentralized governance and budgeting by all its users. Ultimate inclusion, participation and addiction (like drugs :smile:). This can lead to huge resonance in media.
2) It incentivises new users to come in the network (to buy DASH) and that leads to marketcap go up. USD Investements and rewards of masternodes, miners and developers goes up.
3) DASH developers now better know what their users (the whole community, not only MNs) really want to be implemented first, second and so on.
4) Better decision making by attracting more active people to voting, creating proposals and budgeting.
5) Developers, masternodes and miners could get more fees (rewards) in case of fractional voting for users (not for MNs) would be taxed.

CONS:
1) Difficulties to implement such system (Lite nodes needed?)
2) ?
beautiful !

Or:
- these people are too insistent;
- these people are too stupid;
either way, this is a troll thread, for me.

I suggest we keep an eye on the suspects from now on.

I find your post really offensive. Not long ago you liked my governance post and thought it was a good idea eventually. What made you change your mind? Too many clueless folks creating a false socialism vs capitalism BS narrative? It seems some people become really irrational here when someone utters the world socialism.

Let me repeat:

SOCIALISM = STATISM = CENTRALIZED GOVERNANCE, CENTRAL PLANNING
CAPITALISM = FREE MARKET = DECENTRALIZATION

The more power you take away from a leader or a group of leaders, the more decentralized and free market capitalist that system will be. It's quite the opposite of what some people believe I'm arguing for.

The problem is that once a system becomes too centralized, it's very hard to undo it, because those people will not let power slip away from their hands. Power corrupts.

My comments are nor directed at you. I know you are a legit DASH user. But, please, re-read carefully some of the recent posts around.
