Future Prospects: Where is Dash Heading in the Crypto Market?

Hey there, Dash Forum!

As someone whos really into cryptocurrencies and has been keeping an eye on Dash for quite a while now I can't. Wonder about its prospects, in the changing crypto market. Dash has some features like InstantSend and PrivateSend which make it stand out.. How will these features affect its position in the market in the term?

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on Dashs potential. Are there any developments that you think could have an impact on where it stands? Lets have a discussion, about where Dash might be headed in the world of crypto!

If new applications are developed that use Dash, this could lead to an increase in demand for the currency. And the very increase in acceptance of cryptocurrencies is already a plus

I have some strong opinions on this that I've expressed elsewhere.

First, let us be honest about where dash is right now. Regardless of dollar value, dash keeps falling lower in rank. It's at this point that someone jumps in and says, "ah but, if you compare like for like and do x and y on z website, then dash is #1". I don't actually care that much how true this is, it's not that relevant. If the news outlets have abandoned you, and every other chain is fast and cheap, and usernames are common and no one actually gives a shit about being "unbanked"...

Let's get this straight. Dash is not digital cash. It can't possibly be. After 10 years, dash still does not posses the qualities of universality and struggles to stay fungible. Can't even get itself on bitpay.

No one at DCG has worked on the "digital cash" parts for years because, as they keep saying, their only focus is Dash Platform. In any event, the payments sector has under-performed compared to other sectors.

Dash is a product - not a protocol - offering a fault tolerant database / data contract with very specific characteristics. Looking at dash with fresh eyes, you would say dash (credits) is the token of this product. That's it, nothing else, dash is web3.

The only question you need to ask yourself is, can dash change it's ways and get the messaging right? For this to happen, the entire dash.org website would need a complete overhaul; drop every mention of the words "digital cash" and put web3 at the forefront. Dash would need to expel all advertisers and marketers that insist on selling "digital cash" or "living unbanked". And this needs to happen now, not just a last minute rush on the eve it's full launch. Dash as web3 needs to be sold now to bring in the devs. And the projects coming from the devs must stop putting the word "dash" into their app names.

Tbh, I think it's too many if's but it is theoretically possible I suppose.

I remember reading a fascinating essay about cryptocurrencies, on a site that may have been called "assigncode", although I'm not entirely sure of the exact name.
Really fascinated by this Dash discussion! I've been following its trajectory and the points on Dash as 'web3' and the need for a messaging overhaul really resonate. It's a critical juncture for Dash to redefine its identity in this ever-evolving market. Curious to see how it'll adapt and potentially thrive.

Can you give me a percentage figure of how much the DASH platform is ready?
How many programmers are actually involved in the completion of the DASH platform?

Скажите цифру в процентах, на сколько готова DASH - платформа?
Сколько реально программистов сейчас участвует в завершении DASH - платформы?

With regards to how much the DASH platform is ready :

Dash Core v20 contains Platform features that requires a hard fork (requiring support from miners again) to fully activate.
That hard fork (mn_rr feature) at first glance looks to be planned for after Dash Core v20.1 and before Dash Core v21

DCG is currently stress testing everything on Testnet and also still need to thoroughly test and verify the Platform fee system.

The hard fork (mn_rr feature) in theory (taking into account the many changes to the roadmap this year and the constant delays) could be released through Dash Core v21, through Dash Core v20.1 or through a version between Dash Core v20.1 and Dash Core v21

Below pull request together with below official v20 product brief makes me think the hard fork (mn_rr feature) is more likely to be released in Dash Core v21 :

https://github.com/dashpay/dash/pull/5642
https://www.dash.org/blog/dashcore-v20-0-product-brief/

There is normally about seven months between two major releases (v20 --> v21) and a few months between minor releases (v20 --> v20.1)
