Error loading DASH core

DashCore will not load; it is giving me this error. I have been able to resolve previous errors by reinstalling and re-synchronizing. This one is not resolving. Any tips? I realize this is only a reg sandbox and not real money. However, it is an excellent sandbox for multiparty transactions and it was helpful for my training. Plus, 40,000 DashCoin has a "high value" and "value" is appealing.

What do you mean with 40,000 DashCoin ? Are you talking about tdash (Dash Testnet units ?)
Are you trying to get on Dash Mainnet or on Dash Testnet ?

You should download latest Dash Core v19.0.0 wallet from here :

https://github.com/dashpay/dash/releases/tag/v19.0.0
https://www.dash.org/downloads/

See if you find a settings.json in your Dash Core wallet installation directory and check that .json file with notepad to see which wallet that points to
and if that wallet is actually there in your Dash Core wallet installation directory. Because your error seems to point to a Dash (Mainnet) address.

My wallet has 40,000 DashCoin (last I checked -- I don't encrypt), and no I don't mean tDash. I facilitated hundreds of thousands of significant trading events and set tx to max. Because of the unrestricted nature of my holdings, people ate it up. It was extremely successful. I did download the latest version from git and I still have this error. Yes, the error is referring a Dash address. Don't worry, I'm not planning to do anything with the DashCoin. It's just part of my reg training; it's a sandbox. ATA AMA :-}

Open your dash.conf file and delete the first line.

Open your dash.conf file and delete the first line.
What should I use to open it? Traditionally I use commands or notepad, but with this newfangled "encryption" half the time I open a file it instantly corrupts everything. I should note that my system is heavily encumbered by an ongoing secret police investigation (yes).

I'm confused by the address here, an address starting with an X is a real, mainnet, actual value address, not a sandbox. Anyway...

I would back the dash.conf up somewhere safe and start with a new one, since your wallet isn't included with the dash.conf it should load no issue (may complain about needing a reindex, especially if you've been a few versions behind for a while)

Should I delete that too? Is a blank dash.conf what I need?
That is unclear, only thing that is clear is that some things are in that conf file that should not be there.

Same error is occurring. Cannot parse the .conf file
I was fully synchronized with 40,000 Dash on mainnet yesterday. I will try deleting the confirmation file and see if it loads. Thanks all.

Thanks all. It is now at least beginning to load. Wish there was a way to simply check on a wallet or possibly exit this system, but alas. It's a sandbox for me because there is no way I could possibly accept a transaction that large. Anytime I've had more than $5000 deposited into my bank account, the Province and / or the police service seize it. I know, it sounds paranoid. Oh there it goes, trying to encrypt wallet to prevent all of these unauthorized transactions. Is there any way from preventing anonymous bots from stealing directly from my wallet every time I log in? Off-topic, I know. I could start new threads.

Thanks everyone for the help. It all seemed to work. My current Dash balance is quite high but there isn't a broker willing to assist me in terms of making accessible in "Real Life" that is, I can't exchange it for $C or any fiat currency. Does DarkCoin interact with fiat or is another intermediary required? I can start a new thread.

Some things to read up on first :

Good luck with your 40.000 Dash on a not-encrypted software wallet, as you previously mentioned.
Edit : just in case the above is really the case and OP is not someone thinking today is 1st of April 2023 (Fools Day)

I've encrypted it now and confirmed the value a number of times. Thanks all for the help.

Just for everyone else (and yourself) encrypting a wallet will not help with unauthorized transactions, an unauthorized transaction means your private keys have been leaked. No matter what you do on your own machine if someone has the public and private part of a key, they have control of a wallet from anywhere in the world regardless of what you do with your own "copy" of the wallet
