My mind was blown away when reading an internet browser statistic few months ago. Google's Chrome is today the most widespread internet browser. It dominates Europe as well with one little exception, Germany.

In Germany, Firefox browser, which is more privacy centric dominates the market. Germany is also one of the most privacy oriented countries I know.

Should DASH make a big push in Germany? I think this is probably a great way to make DASH go mainstream.

Some interesting links https://www.statsmonkey.com/table/12803-germany-web-browser-market-share-usage-statistics-2014.php

February 2015 data http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_web_browsers#/media/File:Browsers_map.PNG
kpUklQ7h.png

Most used web browser by country as of February 2015 according to StatCounter. Google Chrome Internet Explorer Firefox Opera Android web browser UC Browser

The orange is Firefox on the map. Note the only orange country in Europe is Germany,

is just out
(Dash mentioned)

cointelegraph.de is doing an interview right now with one of us

we would need more 'action' from the german community on the ground
i belive, as supposedly in germany it is still a very small BTC / Dash scene.

Wasn't that Kreuzberg district in Berlin one of the first places to accept Bitcoin in a bunch of bars and shops? http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/apr/26/bitcoins-gain-currency-in-berlin

well, most of my friends and neighbours has never heard about bitcoin. nobody knows dash here (Osnabrück, Germany).
I do my best and talk about dash wherever i go.
But there's no need to rush, the callapse of the fiat system is only a matter of time.

And most friends and neighbours don't think there will be an economic collapse, they think we're mad to believe that.

Fiat as we know it may collapse but not sure this collapse will be as desired. Standard cash could just be replaced with a centralized, privacy nightmare digitial currency such as Ripple. Some governments are already exploring this option.

There is this burger shop in Berlin / kreuzbetg , the owner has been a bunch of times in the GERMAN press (he does a lot of BTC portion)
Somebody should (please) talk to him about accepting Dash ! I think that would be a great start for the German scene

Max keiser just had a go at ripple on the latest KR, people may not agree with some of his stuff, but it appears he does not like this ripple angle, said it defeated the object of the idea of decentralized crypto technology.

Yes, I have seen the guy in some bitcoin conference video on youtube. His name is Platzer. This is the bar in question http://room77.de/ Can someone just email/phone him?

A Coindesk article about this bar http://www.coindesk.com/evolution-bitcoin-behind-berlin-bar/

Some Youtube videos:

This quote is interesting:

Platzer is certain his side will win the fight over regulation. There is no way to regulate bitcoin, he contended, as it goes against the coding. But more importantly, if the regulation side succeeds, people could just move to the next altcoin. “The genie is out of the bottle," he said, "there is no going back anymore.”

He would certainly make a great advocate for DASH.

It's not just Ripple. Stellar's same shit and it's already a top 10 crypto. Stellar recently announced all wallet users that they need to comply with KYC or risk losing their Stellar coins or something.
He needs a Dash badge next to that bitcoin badge on his lapel
He should definetely like Dash more than Bitcoin due to fungibility aspect, built-in privacy and instant transactions.

I've dropped him an email, inviting him to join our community.

I was in touch with him some month ago and am waiting now to "revive" that conversation with him based on the Blockchain Funding
(As this should be right up his alley)

So anybody in Berlin ready to go for Burgers at Room 77 ?
I am ready to throw in the Beer money as tips if that person can start a conversation with the owner and maybe connect us !?

I've sent him an email. Wait and see I guess. If there's anyone from Berlin reading this, paying Room 77 a visit could be even better.

I'm pinging Aswan in IRC but he's probably afk and he's been super busy with real life lately. But our dev Aswan could be a great messenger who knows more about Dash privacy than many of us .. :)

Edit: flare and crowning are Germans too... Let's send them there .. lol.

Regarding Firefox... Besides the fact it is a more privacy centric browser, it also has Bitcoin price ticker as an add-on, which I guess makes it a more popular browser to German bitcoin fans. Then a few weeks ago the XMR devs had a meeting with Firefox, and firefox said they added XMR ticker also: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bitcoin-price-ticker/reviews/702904/
I downloaded the add-on but didn't see the XMR ticker...
And wondering if someone from Dash has asked Firefox to add Dash price ticker to their browser add-ons?
