Glad to see this campaign chugging along. I'll be curious to see if your new jetplane video experiences a higher CTR than this first one.

@bielie Could you say if the India/Philippine/Malaysia cost per views/clicks are significantly less expensive than the US ones? Since the per capita GDP in those developing countries is much less, the value per view is also much, much less. In my experience, I'd rather have 1 US/UK/Australia/NZ click vs. 10 clicks from a low GDP per capita nation.

Google likes to water down their offering with low value clicks, which is why this is a particularly important metric to follow.

Sorry, no. Since we targeted English speakers and not specific locations, we do not get reports on the locations.

Sorry, no. Since we targeted English speakers and not specific locations, we do not get reports on the locations.

You should be able to see click prices per country regardless of having targeted by language:

Once you are logged into Adwords, go to the "Dimensions" tab. Then from the "View" drop-down on that page, select "Geographic". You should then be able to sort by country, cost per click, etc.

My overall recommendation is that if the low GDP per capita countries are not significantly less expensive on a per click basis, that you could either exclude those geographies on your campaign settings page, or you could add a 80-90% negative bid adjustment for the low rent countries.

With the exact same budget, you should be able to juice far more value out of your spend without adding more than 10 minutes of work.

If I can help with any of the specifics, let me know.

Week 14 report: Our first ad now has 149,317 views

Please note: This is the last report for this campaign, it has run its course. As soon is PrivateSend is functional again, the Project Jet Plane campaign will start.

We believe that the campaign was hugely successful in getting the Dash brand out there: There were 850 000 impressions. Since most of the message (Dash outperforming Bitcoin in terms of privacy and speed) is in the first five seconds, the message was broadcast 850 000 times. For $5 000 we believe it is a massive bargain!

We have learnt a lot with this campaign. Two facts we will utilize in future are:
1) By far the most people interested in cryptocurrencies are male (90%). For true market penetration we need to target females aggressively. Our future ad "Borderless Love", which is now in the story boarding phase, will appeal to both males and females, and target the remittance industry.
2) India is the most open English speaking market for cryptocurrencies. (30%) of our audience. For this reason we have translated Project Jet plane into Hindi. (We have also done a Spanish translation, and the Brazilian Dash community is helping us with Portuguese.) India is also the worlds biggest recipient country for international remittances: More reason to target the remittance industry!

For those who have not seen the Jet Plane ad yet, here it is.

Very cool jetplane video! Definitely a unique, creative style. Well done.

In terms of your conclusion regarding the Indian audience - I believe it is a false conclusion. The campaign is getting the most traffic from India because India is huge and clicks are far cheaper than in developing countries, and therefore your campaign is, by accident perhaps, aggressively bidding on that traffic.

The average click in India is far cheaper than in developed countries, so unless the bids are reduced accordingly to match that market, your relative bids to other competitors' Indian bids will be super high, and therefore explain why so much Indian traffic is coming in. I'm not necessarily saying it's a terrible thing, I'm just explaining that we can't come to the conclusion that Indians are especially interested in Dash.

Hi @dashdisciple

Thanks, we're glad you like the Jet Plane ad!

As far as regions and cost per view per region is concerned: The way our campaign was structured, Adwords did not provide us with that data, unfortunately.

We bid $0.10 per view on all our placements and key words. While we do not have specific regional cost data, what we do know is that our average position for the ad was consistently 1. This means that we outbid our competition consistently. Also, we never paid more than $0.06 for any view, which reinforces the fact that we were never outbid. Our average CPV was $0.04

The conclusion is that we did not get more views from India because of cost per view bidding, but because there genuinely is more interest in India in cryptocurrencies than in any other English speaking region. If we were outbid in other regions, we would not have an average of 1st position.

Hope that makes sense! :)

Bielie

Glad those views are pouring in.

If it's a $0.10 bid regardless of country, India is producing so many views because other bidders are using more granular bidding, and bidding less for India specifically. While India may be averaging $0.04CPV on your campaign, I'd assert that you could probably be getting them for $0.01 CPV if you were using granular bidding.

In any case -thanks for all your work - it's certainly a help to Dash, regardless of the nitty gritty.

We've also added keywords relating to wallets and exchanges, to encourage pollination of users of these 3rd party tools. We still expect "how to bitcoin" to dominate our results.
Adwords does not yet include cryptocurrency under their direct interest targeting options, but they do provide interests based on relevancy.
