Okay, so I've seen a few suggestions revolving around cloud storage but I don't think that's a killer app... it sounds more like utility. Invariably, margins would be squeezed. I'm thinking a killer application would be twitter-like. Allow me to elaborate...
Twitter-like service
All masternodes would carry a basic twitter-like service. This would be a pay-per-tweet service with different levels depending on tweet size and duration. Data synced across all masternodes. Here are the proposed options...
Available lifespans:
- 1 hour (ideal fit for tv viewing etc)
- 48 hours (standard service) (24 hours is a tad too short)
- 180 days*
Available file sizes:
- text / file < 1K
- files 1K - 2M
- files 2M - 1G*
- files 1G - 100G*
* Due to space requirements, only carried by masternodes wanting to offer this service.
In other words, a standard service would be for small files for short periods, thus keep space requirements to a minimum yet remaining very useful.
A standard tweet might cost, say, 2 cents. Larger tweets, longer lifespans, obviously cost more.
This would be a dual function app; a twitter-like app that just so happens to include a dash wallet, thus making easy top-up. The dash wallet would be hidden away in the settings, thus gaining users by stealth. Ideally, the wallet would be a plugin, thus allowing the wallet to also be shared among other apps (expense managers etc).
Additional idea
I've also had this other idea floating around for a while. Maybe a different app or a part of the above idea.
Person A calls Person B. The app automatically registers both numbers on a masternode (A and B).
Person B receiving the call (an indivudual or a call centre), upon answering, also registers with a masternode, thus opening a channel for text and file transfer between the two parties.
At the end of the call, the app can notify the masternode to close the channel, or it would simply expire after one hour. Both parties would pay to register with a masternode but it would be a very small payment.
If this was universal, it would be so useful for tech support, invoicing and so on.
