Can you post more information, including the TXID and any data that was returned when you submitted your proposal? What exact commands did you run (please cut-and-paste them)?

    Jim, thanks.

When you submitted proposals what route did you use? I am now fearful of submitting in case I loose another 5 @jimbursch

I used Dash Central, which I think is nearly identical to proposal.dash.org

I suggest waiting before submitting another proposal. This 5 Dash is spent, but l'm not certain you still can't complete the proposal submission. Wait to hear back from @nmarley, or maybe @rango has some insight.

    @jimburch @nmarley @rango
Is there a document on proposal submissions that describes the process including what happens when a submission throws an error?
    Thx.

@CaptAhab You might need to mention the whole set of commands you used.

Being new to this, I was surprised that the page https://proposal.dash.org does not link to a more complete how-to guide for the process. I see that there's a guide at https://github.com/dashcommunity/guides/blob/master/submit_proposal_to_network.md - however, the final steps seem incomplete:

It would be good to provide a link instead of just "at dash central". Does this mean https://www.dashcentral.org/budget/create ?
It would also be useful to spell out what will happen next and the timing of that. From the issues mentioned above it's clear that new submissions do not always appear within an hour. In such a case the submitter will need to know what to do next.

The pain that this archaic proposal submission process on dash.org/dashcentral.org is creating is not necessary. For anyone less technically inclined, or more risk averse, DashTreasury.org has reduced the proposal submission process to the following steps. Note that the current automatic subsidy is 0.1 Dash:

    Here are steps 1, 2, 3:

    Step 1:

    Step 2:

    Step 3:

I didn't enter any commands, just pasted outcomes from the wallet and proposal tool.

Thx @abob54. Looks simple enough ;-)
@CaptAhab did you follow that same procedure? It sounds like you sent the proposal from another place?

Lesson of the day: Be wary when someone calls something "official", especially when it interfaces with a public decentralized blockchain.

    Hi @nmarley

Thank you very much for your help.

When do you think you will know, whether this is recoverable or not? Its just that my proposal is time critical and I need to think about resubmitting today, if we think the Dash is toast.

    Thanks

It's these pages and pages of users who have a problem with your "official" tool, @tungfa. It's exceedingly complex. Perhaps you are in a position to either improve the tool, improve support for the tool, or at least provide better documentation for it. I'm not sure how many more users need to lose 5 Dash or run into panic/delays for this to become clear.

It's okay to defend your product vehemently, but it's irresponsible to do so when it's no longer the best option for users.

I am working on it now, but can't give you any guarantees. What's interesting is the timestamp you posted along with the command -- 1500040217. This is machine-speak for "2017-07-14 13:50:17 UTC". The funny thing is that your collateral transaction was included in a block on blockchain before that time happened.

Your collateral TX was included in this block:
    http://insight.dash.org/insight/blo...436e786c748324efbda34dd57ac5be7f5222ed7a59d46

...which has a timestamp of 1499973860, or 2017-07-13 19:24:20 UTC.

I do have a few questions which might help me understand more about what happened.

Did you happen to refresh your browser when you created this proposal?
What browser were you using (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, etc.)?
Is your computer's system clock incorrect/off?

I'll note that all timestamps used are in UTC so time zone differences should not have affected anything.
