DASH (aka Digital Cash) is a cryptocurrency that has many advantages over its competition, including exclusive technologies such as InstantSend, PrivateSend, incentivized PoW/PoS and an innovative governance system, including Treasury. As a result of these features and innovations, DASH has realized some good growth and market capitalization appreciation by those who have sought out the truth behind the technology and potential value.
However, as a result of DASH's recent ascension and increase in market share, DASH been targeted by competitors, fanatics and industry zealots with false accusations, to harm its reputation and potential for success. These false accusations have caused fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) about its value and authenticity as a legitimate project. Most often, the false accusations include that DASH is "a scam" and/or was "pre-mined". These claims are outright lies and only used to serve to protect the interests (money and status) of DASH's threatened competitors. Said claims have damaged the value of DASH and stakeholders. By not pursuing action against this slander, DASH is tacitly admitting guilt, cementing the accusations in the public opinion.
As much as we would like to pretend this is a utopian society where markets are free and everyone has good intentions, we must face the facts. The financial markets are comprised of trillions of dollars and there has been billions made in the cryptocurrency space already. Just as bitcoin is seen as a potential threat to legacy assets and institutions, DASH and its revolutionary features are seen as a threat to both. For DASH to achieve its potential, it must defend its reputation. DASH recognizes this concerted effort of misinformation and slander exists and that it must defend itself - or be a victim of the billion dollar bullies.
DASH has long took the "high road" - ignoring such baseless, slanderous claims. However, the constant, toxic spewing of lies by its jealous and threatened competitors has not subsided. DASH must put an end to the vitriolic FUD and slander that has caused financial harm to it and its stakeholders.
I, therefore, propose that we vote to do the following:
1) Put out a press release in all major blockchain publications and social media outlets outlining DASH innovative technology and how its reputation has been under constant, public attack by the bitcoin elite and other competitors
2) Provide statements to dispute and debunk false and slanderous claims (link to DASH.org articles)
3) Retain legal representation to serve "cease and desist" letters to the public figures who have slandered DASH
4) File suits to scrub youtube and websites from baseless lies and false claims about DASH
5) Offer and encourage civilized methods of dispute resolution and debate and diverse opinions
