Today I received another threatening letter from HSBC, simply because I didn't provide them with an email address. Such "requests" for an email address (previously not required), show how such organisations abuse their customers by gathering as much info as possible, putting their privacy at risk, and constantly modifying their rules of engagement. Such tactics are not limited to personal details, but may also introduce new charges or limits at a moments notice.
And so I was thinking, maybe we could collect and publish such abuses and use them to promote crypto / dash, by highlighting how dash protects users privacy... permissionless use being one of the key pillars of crypto.

Important - we'll be placing further restrictions on your account
We recently wrote to you asking for some information about you and your account. This is part of the introduction of HSBC Safeguard; a series of initiatives designed to better protect all our customers from fraud and financial crime.
We asked you to phone us or return the form we enclosed with our previous letter. Many of our customers have already responded, but unfortunately our records show that you still haven't been in touch with us. As a result we'll be placing further restrictions on your HSBC banking services, as detailed in our recent letter.
The restrictions and how to avoid them
We said that if we didn't hear from you we wouldn't be able to continue to provide you with certain services. Unfortunately, as we had not heard from you, your ATM cash withdrawal was reduced to £50 per day and we stopped you from being able to open any new products and services with HSBC. As you still haven't provided us with the information we will also be blocking your internet and mobile banking access and preventing any new international payments being made from your accounts. These additional restrictions will take effect from 23 July 2016.
If you provide us with your up-to-date information before this date you can avoid these additional restrictions and any further disruption to your banking service. Please call us on 03457 404 404, or +44 1226 261 010 from outside the UK, or return the customer details form as soon as possible. If you've sent your form back to us in the last seven days, thank you for your response - you can ignore this letter.
We're sorry we had to take this action and hope you can find the time to call us. In the meantime, if you would like to find out more about HSBC Safeguard, please visit us at hsbc.co.uk/hsbcsafeguard.
Your sincerely,
Becky Moffat
