Forgotten fee

we sent some DASH and forgot to fix the fee. Now the transaction is pending and pending and pending... Can anyone tell, how to add the fee after sending, so the transaction can be done?

DASH Core. Can I just delete the pending transaction? Are the coins back in the balance then?

Oh, I was next going to ask which version of Dash Core. But, it sounds like it worked out. What did you do to get them back?
