"Dash is not THE best cryptocurrency"

He has a point though; switching to some form of PoS would likely improve capacity / performance and improve dash's green credentials. It would be nice if dash explored this possibility.

safety is a bigger concern than "green" i believe
so far i only hear better safety points for PoW than for PoS

Of course safety, but there have been some successful examples; peercoin being one of the oldest, and nem with their delegated proof of stake. I can't speak with great technical knowledge but from everything I've seen, PoS seems to bring some benefits if it's handled correctly. Ethereum, for example, plans to switch to PoS, and the number of hybrids (PoW + PoS) are growing by the day; decred, pivx etc.

all i know from the tech pro's is that PoW is still the best :rolleyes:
