Bitcoin.com: DASH-Powered Soda Machine to Debut at Miami Bitcoin Conference

Eric, thanks for the opportunity to help with your article and for joining Dashtalk.

Moocowmoo also helped immensely with the article and with all the software to make it all work. He should also get a special award just for putting up with Camosoul and myself...
Raptor73 also should get a mention for the fantastic 3D rendering.

Someone made a very good point in the other sister thread. I think, just like the other guy, that people won't get the point of InstantX.

This is why:

From a viewer's point of view it's identical to a Bitcoin machine as bitcoin vending machines are also instant for the buyer. The buyer doesn't really care how many confirmations there are or if the transaction has been confirmed if he gets his stuff just as quick from a Bitcoin atm. Maybe the vendor would care more if we explain to the vendor he runs the risk of getting screwed by not waiting for X amount of Bitcoin confirmations like some exchanges do. Thoughts? What's the pitch here? Not sure this has been properly thought out.

Merchants are well aware of the double spend 0-confirmation problem, which is why something like this Bitcoin vending machine will only be a novelty. We will also reinforce this at the conference with literature and the DASH presentation. Keep in mind Amanda also spent about $0.35 in ATM and Bitcoin fees to make that $1 purchase. Using Dash would only have a 3 cent transaction cost now and will be 0 with Evolution.

What if Amanda wanted to exchange USD for DASH at a DASH accepting ATM. How much would the fee had been? Has to be an apples to apples comparison.

Solarminer

Also, let's say this can be explained to potential merchants but since these Bitcoin vending machines seem to be out there - Amanda found one and there are probably more in some places, we also need a decent pitch for the potential buyers who've seen these not just for vendors. Most of the people there will be potential buyers/users not machine vendors. We don't want a "oh that's so yesterday" kinda` reaction.

I'm sure it'll be explained that the security is there for higher value goods in the machines. And it would be good if there were examples of purchases that might be considered personal e.g. a vending machine for pregnancy tests / condoms etc.

Keep in mind that this solution is for RETAIL in all it's forms, not simply vending machines. The soda machine is a physical metaphor.

The soda machine is ready ?
The conference will begin in 5 days.
2-3 days for the shipping and placement, so what's the status of the project ?
Some pictures or a little video of the physical machine will make pleasure at everybody ;-)
