At startup, can I mine with zero DASH?

As stated in DASH website "In order to run a masternode, a user must put up 1000 DASH as something akin to collateral.."

for running a masternode (and get paid ) you need 1k Dash
for running an masternode (and not get paid) u do not need 1k Dash

Yeah you need an exchange with a USD / DASH gateway or get Bitcoins first and then turn into DASH
