A Conversation with MNOs: On Dash Adoption and Africa?
Vetting and Voting on proposals should be seen as a dedication to our success as a community and not as a favor to proposal owners. The success of the DAO's voting system has been a source of envy to other cryptocurrencies over time.
The ‘desperation’ and ‘pressure’ we usually see proposal owners display is mainly due to the 5 Dash proposal fee which would be lost if the proposal fails to pass, or passes when there are not enough funds left for it.
On the low count of businesses from Nigeria on Discoverdash, Businesses who received Dash at the beginning of the year ran into major losses when the market went down. The businesses were victims of this as they received Dash into their wallets and there was no ready dash-fiat liquidation.
This caused a major strain on our campaign for businesses adoption and we had to find a solution. After several talks with MNOs and other community members, we decided to integrate Dash into major exchanges that could provide enough liquidation for a country of over 100 million people.
Here, we met another obstacle. Belfrics charged us a listing fee of $25,000! We discussed with the community and we were told "Dash couldn’t afford it”. We had to schedule calls and meetings with the leadership of Belfrics, and we spent months convincing them to integrate Dash for free. They finally agreed seeing we had a great community in Nigeria that needed liquidation.
We need the support of the MNOs to make these plans come to pass. We are available for enquiries.
We are not just ambassadors, we are Business Development staff of Dash.
For 42 Dash at $200/Dash, we would:
Sponsor the Blockchain & AI Conference in Nigeria, thereby:
1. Raise Dash awareness and create preferences
2. Get more businesses to adopt Dash as means of payment
3. Visibility before industry leaders who would integrate Dash in their businesses
4. Dash community expansion and bring new investors
5. Market Dash product and services with attractive content
6. Generate internal commitment to Dash in Nigeria
Sponsorship gives us:
1. 30 minutes speaking opportunity to pitch dash
2. Booth at the event
3. Opportunity to co-host the evening networking event
4. All participants would set up a dash wallet and get a tip
5. Dash to be a means of payment at the event
6. Visibility of dash in the press
Dash Business Adoption Campaign
this is a campaign solely to sign up new businesses, merchants, and companies to Dash. This campaign would run for 2 months and would reach over 500 companies/ businesses / merchants.
1. Hold a conference for businesses and merchants adoption in 2 states for 2 months
2. Signing up the Merchants/ Businesses on discoverdash.com
3. Assist with integrations
4. There’d be a monthly follow-up for three months
5. They would get a Dash kit
6. They’d take the course on dashafrica.org to get them familiar with Dash
Estimated number of participants per conference would come from over 200 businesses, companies, and organizations ranging from online shops, to offline businesses, exchanges, blockchain and cryptocurrency based organizations, and savings/ credit-facility institutions.
We’d leverage on the mailing lists of the Blockchain and AI conference above, and our previous events to ensure our publicity is strategic and direct.
We’d also leverage on bitcoinafrica.io, cryptotvplus.com, and other websites for adverts.
The staff would be in charge of creating and nurturing business relationship with clients till it becomes successful and coordinating the entire project.
We are working to integrate Dash to major online stores, more exchanges, and blockchain/ cryptocurrency focused organizations.
Some ongoing integrations are: Yellowcard, Bitpesa, Belfrics, Tradefada, and several others.
