Even in 2021, this is still an issue. To an even greater extend than back when I wrote the original post since luxor.tech hold ~ 55% of the global hashrate. Check https://miningpoolstats.stream/dash if you care for the health of the Dash mining ecosystem.

    Who are they?

Something interesting happened to our small and cozy Dash pool last night: Apparently someone at XvMNv6HEn693Pow3zvfzG3RCKZ7WeXz9VK pointed more than 210 TH/s at the pool for close to an hour, mined a couple blocks and left. At some point we had close to 10% of the network hashrate. I'm...

    P2Pool What's up with Dash P2Pool today?

Antpool/ViaBTC allready have 75% of the global extraction rate combined. By moving to one of them you're making the problem worse.

The orphan game is on again

Bitmain now controls 69% of global block extraction. The orphan pool hasn't even recognised we had 6 orphans on the 13th. Something very screwy going on.

The orphan game is on again

Dear Dash Team You must finally do something with a lasting effect about pools trying to game the blockchain. Once again smaller pools are getting crazy orphan streaks killing them off if this goes on. Just have a look at our pool's block list: https://poolmining.org/pool/dash. The possibility...

    Please support the smaller pools

The recent orphaned blocks crisis emphasized once again why the current concentration of approximately 70% of the Dash network hashpower on just two pools (Antpool and ViaBTC) is not just bad for the project, but outright dangerous. Some smaller pools perished during that crisis because miners...
