How to setup a plain Dash node? (not a masternode)

H Daf, If you just run the core wallet, you will be acting as a full node; then its just a matter of keeping it online. You can then upgrade the core wallet to a masternode by adding the 1000 collateral. Hope that makes sense :). Pablo.

    walletgenerator.net

Its a good practice to use an Ubuntu live USB (not Tails) on a clean install to generate wallets. Depends on how many times you've been hacked to determine your level of paranoia :). Pablo.

    walletgenerator.net

Yep, already do that, but thanks for the suggestion Tante :). We really need to get Trezor working with Masternodes; its a big risk to hold Dash right now. Pablo.

Much appreciated Tungfa! I had a "security incident" today, so I am working on my contingencies, will use walletgenerator.net on an offline comp for emergencies. :) Pablo.

    Electrum-Dash

I think Trezor would be more secure since the keys are always offline and never touch any computer. On the other hand if your phone is hacked, your 2FA is compromised :). Pablo. eduffield Evan, could we please get your input on this? Thank you, Pablo.

    Electrum-Dash

Hey Guys, I am trying to find out who on the core team is in charge of electrum-dash. With recent price increases, I think it would be very useful to finally integrate masternode support to the Trezor on Electrum. I would like to know how I can help in terms of donations or whatever to get...

    Pre-Proposal Discussion: Jury Duty

An interesting snapshot of the problems with Bitcoin governance and small groups controlling the decision making process: https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/495866/the_rbtc_china_dispatch_11_summary_selected/ I think this article is interesting. I posted it in this thread because it is...

    Pre-Proposal Discussion: Jury Duty

Actually its not. I remember my statistics professor saying that when people were asked to take a survey where they actually got a tangible prize (I think they got a free lunch credit or something) in a college campus, the number of people who did the survey went down every time they were asked...

    Pre-Proposal Discussion: Jury Duty

I feel like this idea introduces a level of complication. Having to meet, different time zones, languages, etc. Also, some people just wont want to meet, so what is a quorum exactly? And what happens if we don't achieve a quorum? I believe in the wisdom of crowds, that's one of the reasons I...

Should we change the mining algorithm because of ASICs?

If you look at the original White Paper, or perhaps it was an early discussion on the BCT forum, Evan makes the point that X11 is designed to be ASIC resistant in the short term, that he intended Dash to follow a similar cycle to Bitcoin and that ASIC's would eventually be developed. The idea...

    Trezor for Darkcoin

Hmmm, I'm a bit at a loss to be honest. I think we will have to wait for the more tech savvy members to pitch in. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Pablo.
